lildavid Nudie Even Steven

okey, progression of Nudie Even Steven Dry, I know I posted the first 4 pics before, but deleted the first message & I thought a reminder of how they looked was in order...

Brand new:

3 months:

I've had to repair the back pockets, and busted the crotch so that has been repaired too.

They're coming along incredibly fast in my opinion...

Posted these 0505xx about a month ago, but these pics are better.

Thinking about retiring them, because they are too slim. Maybe I'll up size on some 5000vx's.

choice_genes Imperial Duke

I washed my imperial dukes yesterday. Only 3 months, but they stank really bad, so I figured it was time...

Before:

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0335.jpg

It rained in melbourne yesterday, so I put them out on the line and let them soak for a few hours. I could see the starch/dirt dripping out of them. Weird dark red/brown colour...

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0342.jpg

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0347.jpg

Then I put them in the washing machine for a warm/hot wash with powder....

The end result:

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0352.jpg

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0362.jpg

These pics are pretty representative of the colour and amount of fading. The fading is maybe slightly less contrasting in real life.

I'm really happy with how they are turning. Pretty good fading on the front, and colour of the indigo after washing is really nice, there's a fair bit of depth in it. Also, the raw leather patch post-wash looks dope! Darkened up beautifully, and has hardened a bit.

Enjoy.

update

I have been wearing these Dukes pretty constantly (at least 5 days a week) for a little over 4 months.

Washed at three months because they stank so bad (there are photos somewhere further back in this thread). Second wash about a week ago. I am pretty happy with how they are fading. I altered the levels (mainly exposure and contrast) in these photos (taken mostly with a flash) to try and represent the true colour and fading of these jeans as accurately as possible.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0454.jpg

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0458.jpg

Chec out how the raw leather tag has darkened! It used to be a pale creamy colour.

update

I figured 6 months is a good time to post an update...

These were washed at 3 months (truly stank), and have been washed twice more since then. Every time has been machine washed with powder. I wore them pretty much everday for the first 4-5 months, but have eased off them a bit since then. Probably every second day now. Anyway on with the pictures:

With flash, reasonable representation of true colour:

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i118/choice_genes/IMG_0470.jpg

The rest are without flash, and a better representation of true colour and fading I think:

Imperial Dukes at 9ish months

OK. I am procrastinating, so you get to see some photos of my jeans.

Dukes, bought in August last year. I have posted them up here a few times. Worn almost every day for the first 4-5 months, worn regularly since then. Washed like 4 or 5 times in the washing machine.

Pics taken without a flash, indoors. They are a pretty good representation of the actual colour of the jeans. They have faded to a really nice mid-blue. I am pretty happy with them. Next project - Eternal 811s! I think they might take a little longer to fade this much...

Anyway, enjoy (sorry for some slightly blurry shots...)

update

Alright I'm sick of studying, so you get more pics of my dukes.

Bought these in August last year, worn pretty hard and regularly. Have just been machine washed again (probably 6 times now).

I have altered the pics a bit in iphoto to try and get as true a representation of colour and contrast as possible. The close-ups of the front are probably a bit more white than the jeans are in real life.

update

I slipped and fell while running down a muddy hill today, thought I'd post the 'evolutionary effects' on my dukes (with that said, they're soaking in the washer with a dirty pair of chucks right now, so the evolution may only have been temporary...) (EDIT - pic taken with flash to show the mud better):

moykky Full Count 0105 (1953 model)

Fullcount 0105 (1953 model). My first contact to japanese jeans and I still can take only about 20% credit of the wear (2nd hand). These have been my "travelling pants" but I think it's time to retire. I will patch these one more time...

shinobi2000 RRL ???

RRLs from fall 06 bought at the Mott and Prince store after being tricked into buying it by the salesperson who swore they would shrink after a soak!! grrr (they're 32, i wanted a 30). I need to use a belt but I'm actually happy with the way they ended up fitting. I had them take off the stupid stitching design from underneath the front pockets. Here they are after about 4 months of medium wear and one wash.

bobby alto Sugar Cane Hawaii SC40401A

Here are some pics of my Sugar Cane Hawaii SC40401A. I have worn them 3 or 4 times a week for almost 2 months. Haven't really gotten much in terms of creasing but the fade is coming good.

I love the color of this denim, especially in some lights when it looks deep purple.

deadpan Lee 101Z

And these are some full selvage Lee 101z. I didn't fade them, (found them in a charity shop), but whoever did, did a nice job. They're too short for me really so I have to wear 'em low. Like I said I didn't fade them but just thought they were a nice example.

Deus Evis Lot 2501XX

Figured i´d post some more goodies.

people dont seem to repair their jeans a lot. and i love the craftmanship & the Look.

These i picked up in bangkok for about nothing.

figured i give them a chance.

Vintage evis with old school hand repairs on back.

trying to fix them up. but its a lot to do. :D

They are actually a nice really old pair with 2501 Lot. Scovill rivets and still a little bit of the guls are visible., good catch. but hell of a lot to work with.

Almost impossible to wear. The fabric is way to brittle and easily rip.

But at least they are nice to look at. :D
