resoling sneakes???

i know what a cobbler can do w/ aged boots/shoes. now.

forgive my mad scientist question, but can i get a pair of sneakers resoled w/ a different sole. Remember the vandals w/ the dunk sole. I won a pair of ultra forces on ebay and am afraid the soles are gonna crumble.

Let me know if this is possible or should i just keep these pairs in the museum?

id just wear them till the sole falls off, then worry about it.

it can be done. you would have to find one hell of a shoe guy though.

I dont think many would be willing to do this. the otehr part of the whold thing is finding another pair of sneakers that are built on the same frame.

I would do what cmf says most likely.

1.) Those soles aren't any type of PVA foam - they won't crumble ..

2.) I have something to treat them " re-rubberize " them so they will be more crumble proof

3.) If anything happens it will be the glue giving way and the sole seperating from the upper ..

if these soles do crumble/ separate i really want to hype 'em out w/ some dunk soles. thoughts???

Dunk soles are straight across like .. These aren't so probably couldn't be done .

And you would have to buy a pair of dunks to destroy by removing the soles .

Would need some strong glue debonder and unstitching the sole ..

Would take a REALLY skilled shoe smith to do it cuz Nike sure won't do it for you

the cobbler would 1st tell you "why dont you go and buy a new shoe, footlocker is having a sale." then when you explain to him about how these are original, rare and excluseve bla bla bla, then he would tell you to come back when the shoe is falling apart, then maybe he "might" do it for an extra high fee for wanting to do something stupid.

agre with cmf, wear them till they fall apart then resole, but by then you might want to wear something different.
