Are they cool? I've used some suede/nylon layer straps before: they didn't stretch or move around but they ended up ripping quite quickly.

Go for Defeet or Jonesware. I'm divided on my Swrve feelings, but I don't think that fit is gonna be real bike-specific. Maybe that's your bag... Swing the Rapha if you can though, it'll definitely still be around in a long while for you...

Smartwool base layers have served me extremely well. I commute year round and I have to deal with all 4 seasons and with the exception of summer I use them all the time, wash them a lot and they are still in great shape (going on like 3 years now I believe).

Highly recommended.

I have plenty of Smartwool too--.I prefer Defeet wool products, I think they regulate better and are more resilient. though it is getting a little tricky to find the baseshirts and the knee warmers are nearly gone...

What do you want to know? Basically, they're the heaviest, slowest bikes ever and no one rides them on the sand like they were designed to do and can actually do well.

If that's what you're set on, have an Electra or Schwinn's new offerings and call it good. Not a very useful bike though, and man are they ever large.

I was in southern California recently. I was expecting it to be fixie central (i like saw 3) but still saw tons of beach cruisers even far out from the boardwalks. I wonder if Mormon missionaries are forced to use em too.
