3sixteen Lightweight Jeans, Garment Dyed T-Shirts, & Belts!

3sixteen has just released a set of 5 jeans and chinos in a newly developed lightweight denim that's been lightly rinsed after being cut and sewn.  These are available in both their slim tapered and classic tapered fits along with a chino version.

We've also received a new run of 3sixteen's garment dyed blank pocket t-shirts.  These have a great shade and feel to them and are available now at all of our stores in three colors.

We've been waiting for 3sixteen to do a new run of belts for years.  We're happy to announce that their new belts are made in Japan of a very nice Japanese cowhide and come with a solid brass buckle.   These are available in a wide range of sizes and in tan, brown, or black.

Studio D'Artisan G-003 Jean & Dorozome Indigo and Mud Dyed Tees

We have two new releases from Studio D'Artisan this week.

First off we have a new jean model made of a newly developed 15oz pure indigo dyed denim.  This denim has been woven on Japan's famed G3 Toyoda loom, the original Japanese denim shuttle loom.  These come in a slim tapered fit with a medium rise and a medium taper below the knee.

We've also received SDA's limited edition Dorozome t-shirts.  These are dyed by hand using an ancient dying technique from Amami Oshima, between Okinawa and Kagoshima, Japan. This dying technique dates many centuries and is done by wrapping cloth around tree branches and dying the fabric with a dye, in this case natural indigo and mud. These beautiful t-shirts were made in small numbers by Studio D'Artisan as a special release this year.

Studio D'Artisan's Orgueil "Wave Master Flex" Loopwheeled Pocket T-Shirt Collection

Studio D'Artisan have released a new line of loopwheeled pocket t-shirts under their Orgueil label.  These are the most impressive t-shirts we've had come through our doors in a while.   They're made of a slub cotton that's been combed then loopwheel woven, so you have the irregular weave pattern which shows through yet the t-shirts still have a soft hand to them.

These are available in both crewneck and henley tee styles in white, gray, and yarn dyed indigo.  These are one of those items which you need to see in person to truly appreciate what's happening with both the fabric and the construction.

the Orgueil tees and henleys look amazing - are the measurements correct on the website?

size 38 for the henley looks pretty narrow in the chest...

Yup, those are the correct measurements.  Size 38 for most Japanese brands' t-shirts is fairly small.  I know you already have quite a few tees from Japanese brands, these run about 1 size smaller than most brands' tees.

The 3sixteen Overdyed 40ODB "Caustic Wave" Modified Type III Jacket

One of the best selling denim jackets of the past few years has been 3sixteen’s modified Type III. We’re happy to announce that it’s now being made in an overdyed version using the Caustic Wave 40BSP denim. We've never felt an overdyed denim like this, something about the way the Caustic Wave denim reacts to being overdyed is magic, you truly have to try this on to understand.

Due to the extreme variation of sizing on these jackets they are only available in-store.  If you'd like to mail-order one please email us with your ideal chest (pit-to-pit) and sleeve length measurement and we'll try to match your measurements up to a jacket we have at one of our stores.

so much new cool stuff

kiya have you ever looked into doing a MTM jean

You mean offering custom jeans?  I'm not personally into custom/MTM jeans.

I don't like when jeans are treated as tailored menswear.  There should be a level of casualness that comes along with how your jeans fit, and I think that goes along with how they're offered to the client.

Pure Blue Japan's Left Hand Twill 17oz Jeans & Supima Cotton Indigo T-Shirts

Pure Blue Japan have created a 17oz denim version of their left hand twill denim which is made with a pure indigo dyed warp and a gray weft.  This model is made of unsanforized denim but has gone through a special rinse process we developed with Pure Blue Japan which is exclusive to Self Edge. The jeans have been lightly soaked inside out in warm water then air dried; there is minimal shrinkage left in the denim while the jean still feels rigid due to the "at home" style rinse process. These jeans have not gone through any industrial washing or drying processes.

We also have a new pure indigo dyed pocket t-shirt made of a long staple Supima cotton.  These have a great fit and are soft to the touch.

Both of these items are available now at all of our stores and online.

Pure Blue Japan's Pop-Up Beige Jeans, Loopback Military Henley Tees, & Special Jean Rinse Process

This week from Pure Blue Japan we have a new jean, an amazing summer weight loopback indigo-dye henley t-shirt, and an introduction to their new jean rinse process for Self Edge.

All new models and future restocks of Pure Blue Japan’s jeans at our stores will go through a special rinse process we developed with PBJ which is exclusive to Self Edge.  With this new process the jeans are lightly soaked inside out in warm water then naturally air dried; there is minimal shrinkage left in the denim while the jean still feels rigid due to the "at home" style rinse process. These jeans have not gone through any industrial washing or drying processes as to retain as much of the raw denim feel as possible while getting rid of any shrinkage which takes place during the initial wash of an unsanforized denim jean.

Their new PBE-019 17.5oz model has a very interesting process used for the warp yarns.  They've used a beige yarn as the base of the warp then dyed the yarn with pure indigo until it's a deep indigo blue color.  This looks beautiful when raw and sure to age in a very interesting manner once worn in.

We've also received a new summer-weight loopback henley t-shirt which is pure indigo dyed, has lockstitch construction throughout, and comes with metal buttons on the placket.

Both of these items are available now at all of our stores.

Hi Kiya, do you offer repairs at your Mexico store? I had a crotch blowout in my Flathead 1001 and as I'm living in México City it would be easier to ship them to Cabos. Thanks

We do hemming but we do not offer repairs at our Mexico location.  It's the only location out of our 5 stores which doesn't offer repairs.

Nine Lives x Good Art Belt & Self Edge Graphic T-Shirt #6

Two great new releases this week from Nine Lives x Good Art and our in-house line of graphic t-shirts.

First up we have an absolutely beautiful belt made of the most luxurious hardware you can find.  Good Art took care of the sterling silver buckle set, Italy's famed Badalassi tannery took care of the tanning of the cowhide, a pair of 80 year old Japanese craftsman who only work on belts took care of the cutting and sewing, and Nine Lives made it all happen.

We also have a new addition to the Self Edge Graphic Series of T-shirts; this one is named Paradoxical.

Both of these items are available now at all of our stores.

Looking for a bit of help here, would it be possible to get the hem measurement of the PBJ XX-019-BB in size 38 at 32 in.?
Feel like these might be too tapered but I've lost a ton of weight so they might work sized up one. Starting a new job soon and could use some black jeans for work.

Introducing Fine Creek Leathers - A Horsehide Only Line from Tokyo

We are excited to introduce Tokyo's Fine Creek Leathers, available for the first time in North America.  Fine Creek makes some of the most beautiful horsehide jackets we've seen. Using a vegetable tanned Japanese horsehide, which ages in a fairly fast manner, they cut and sew these jackets in their own little studio in Tokyo. The quality of stitching is as good as it gets for a leather jacket, and we've not seen many jackets age as well as these do. Depending on the panel they'll use a different type of stitch thread and thread count to achieve puckering in certain areas for added character.

With the first release we have Fine Creek Leathers' take on the classic Type II jacket. The way the front chest pleats pull and pucker with wear is truly a sight to behold. This comes in as a classic fit with just a hair of length added to the body.  Please check the product page on our site for a full spec list of information on the jacket's materials.

In three weeks we'll also have the Leon Custom which is a double-riders style jacket!
