how do the 23oz. strike gold compare to the 634SR?

The denim is completely different, the only similarity is the weight and that they're both unsanforized. If you're local to one of our stores come in and compare the two in person.

yeah I'm a half hour away from SELA I'm come check em out when I buy my next pair of denim. strike gold has been stepping it up as of late I can't wait to see what they come up with next. at this rate they'll be neck and neck with iron heart rather quickly

why do you have to make it seem like its a competition??? its just clothing man, not a sport.

If this is pre-soak, then yes. If this is post-soak, then no.

Yeah, pre-soak. I think I misjudged the low rise on these. With my Shearers, the waist is the waist though with the SEXI014, the waist is more like the hips.

People generally go true to size or size one up on the SExI14

sorry bro, unless castration is something you have a serious interest in, your 14's are far too tight. you probably sized by waist size and not by thight and rises (which are what really gets nuts in this cut) see if you can trade them in or sell them and try again man. sorry, but that fit is just not going to do if that is pre-soak.

Hey Kiya,

Do you guys have any SC Hawaiis in 29-30 in stock? I came by to drop off my LVC for repairs on the weekend, but was parked illegally so I couldn't hang out and peruse the shop. Hopefully I'll have some time during the pickup.

Yup, we've got both size 29 and 30 at SESF, come in when you can.

Did you buy the jeans from us?

I want to say yes, but now that I think of it, probably not. This was back in 07 or 08, so I'm definitely unsure. Crap, does this mean I'm out of luck? :(

Nothing i can do if they weren't bought from us unless you can bring them into one of our stores.

Hello Kiya,

sorry if you already answered this but what do you plan to stock from MF this season?

We're getting almost everything with the exception of the wool pants and vests. The first item is a light jacket that's coming in next week, everything else is delayed because Toyo is having problems sewing it all because of the complexity of it.

Hey Kiya,

What ever happened to that replica of the jeans that Marlon Brando wore in the "The Wild One" that you guys where working on? Was was very interested in purchasing a pair when I first heard about them in about 2009 and haven't heard anything since. Did you guys scrap them or did I miss them.

The company that owns his name and image lost the rights to his name mid-day through our deal. Thank God this happened right before the jean went into production and not during or else we would have been completely screwed.

The new company that owns the rights to his name wants an astronomical amount to do the jean so it's not happening. Doesn't mean we won't do it without "official rights" though, maybe later this year.

These are available now at all three Self Edge stores.

The Strike Gold - The Pure Gold Jean Collection

Strike Gold is quickly turning into a shop favorite with our staff and repeat clients across our three stores. The couple from Okayama are nailing every fit and denim style and they've only just begun.

We visited them at their studio in Kurashiki City (Okayama Prefecture) a few months ago only to see them possess a passion that's rarely seen even in Japan these days among the denim and vintage-style clothing brands. They're creating such beautiful jeans, shirts, and leather accessories and it seems to come so naturally for them.

Strike Gold has done two new jean styles, one is a redone version of their popular XXX5 Slim Straight fit and they've also introduced a new Slim Tapered model (SG2109). They've done these with one of the most original looking styles of denim we've seen.

They start with a pure indigo dyed thread for the warp (top threads) and a beige mud dyed thread for the weft (bottom threads). The jean looks like an indigo colored denim jean but has a slight beige hue to it from the weft threads peaking through the indigo warp threads. They've upped the weight to 17oz and it comes in loomstate form, due to the abrasive nature of the denim when raw the jean will age faster than most jeans and yield an high contrast fade with normal wear.

Along with the new SG2105 and SG2109 jeans we've received a full restock of the leather belts and the SG1105 jean which has turned into one of the most requested jeans at our shops.

All these jeans and belts are available now at all three of our stores and our online store. Check the online store product pages for more details on the jeans, hi-res photographs, and measurements. Fit photos of the SG2109 are coming next week.
