I've been considering getting a canada goose. the only nice one that I could wear during the winter is the RO one, but i don't want to wait to find my size and all that.

Looks like a chilliwack with the fur removed. You can see the Canada Goose logo on the sleeve.

Forgot I posted this, but I have been thinking on the actual jacket for quite awhile, it'll be in my winter coat patterns so it's in the next phase of TOJ off by a month or so, but I was thinking $250 or less, and obviously once again biased to the slim. What do you guys think? Nailhead tweed, goose down, basic cupro/acetate lining, maybe some wood buttons, zip off sleeves to make a vest if you like that idea, say yay.

this is a good idea for <250, few people make down jackets with wool outer for that sort of price and wool outer is better than shiny nylon

this is for chilliwacks ( no experience with other models )

im a 36/s and i went with the same size, i could get away with a xs and look fine but it would be a bit too short i think

so imo go true to size or size down one if you're between sizes

Just wanna say how amazing and underrated Steven Alan's outerwear is. I've been wearing my navy waxed cotton shell that I snatched 60% off at Barneys nonstop this past winter and now I've just been blown away by a few pieces I've seen at his own store in NYC. He's used a lot of the amazing Italian Woolrich fabric from this season and constructed some really classicly handsome stuff. I will probably kop soon and probably take a few pics for this thread.

Quality jacket. I'm in the UK for a year, don't have to break out my beast of a coat this year; its so warm I find it uncomfortable above around -5 to -10C

if anyone is contemplating it, a Canada Goose parka will get the job done. i own the brown Chilliwack, and like others have said, warmest thing hands down

no joke i have worn just a button up or tee in -20 celsius weather. thin sweater with it can handle -35 celsius

It's that time of the year to start contemplating this, I'm gonna end up buying 3 this year, a duffle, a down parka, and a peacoat.
