Wasn't sure whether to put these in the Nice things thread, the Sprogs thread or here. They could've even be posted in the Shoes that look better with age thread ;)

Anyway, (approximately) 52 year old, hand made by Harringtons, red leather shoes :D

Vintage US Army field trousers, dated 1956

Picked them up from a shop in Ukraine via Etsy

Only gently worn - well, I know they had been worn from the, ahem, stiff handkerchief in the pocket - t'was amusing chasing the wife with it, at least... all washed and clean now though

The seller marked them as M-51.  The inner label doesn't specifically say this... the other interweb versions I've seen, though with limited searching, do reference M-1951... however the specs look the same. I'd be interested to hear from anyone on Sufu in the know

Irrespective, I love them - quality throughout, massively spacious, lovely sateen fabric, adjustable waist yadda yadda yadda

The first couple of photos are closer to the true colour

I believe this is called an M-1947 (maybe someone here knows more). Used from the early '50s to early '60s. I think it's the precursor to the sateen fatigue shirts that we see in later Vietnam, reproduced by the likes of Orslow. They were made in HBT as well (Korean War?). I rather like this Jacket/shirts.

Just got this M65 in... I do like M65s but wanted one with more space for layering.  This is a Large and gives P2P 65cm so is plenty voluminous

Apparently from 1972 thought not sure from a quick look at the labels how they determined that... anyhow it's well put together and will do the job nicely

There is a stock number that starts with DLA. Inside that will be a two digit number that tells the year.

Also from 1972 - thanks to those with dating expertise.
Described as a Chemical Protective Liner shirt

The placket has a panel on the button side, so when the shirt is done up you’re essentially buttoned up twice:

Colour more accurate in next pic. Lovely old texture:

Looks in great order. What year was the second pocket introduced?

It sure is. & Great question, actually had to look it up. I know the WWI stuff had one pockets but I'm curious as to why they added the second pocket. Turns out it just seemed like a good idea for utility. It was introduced in (or around) 1940.
