It looks like this Reliance Guideboat co was started by the founder of Restoration Hardware as an upscale competitor to J Crew, Land End, Polo etc.

Webstore is still active but all retail shops closed a few years back. Make some nice but pricey pieces.

Sunday morning breakfast with my little goth weeb after another epic wedding last night.  Screenshot_20210926-125921_Gallery.thumb.jpg.8700ed0bd5e80eac839ddea6f29b5d9a.jpg

Was having too much fun for a proper fit pic.

Needed a sleeker profile so I broke out my vintage Johnston and Murphy Mastercraft cap toe oxfords. At one point the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, a misguided impromptu post bachelor party hike years ago necessitated a rebuild which was sadly done with substandard replacement soles, destroying the fit and utility of the shoes. They have never been the same and are now relegated to only special events.

And yes, I wore socks this time

Bonus picture of the oxfords during the ill fated sole destroying hike, circa 2009. R.I.P.

@mondo thanks. I’m slowly making my way through his complete works-it’s a lot!  Being shot stories, it’s nice that I can just dip in out. Some of them are far out.

@Toegun, if you've read Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun (or anything of his, really), you know the score... if not, I envy you the experience of reading it for the first time. If you like Vance, you'll love Wolfe.

@mondo I think I have it, in 2 volumes?Tried starting it a few times, the beginning never gripped me.  Sometimes that’s the problem with picking up things cheap, too easy to put it off.

Been a while since it was denim weather in my neck of the woods...

Lee

Sunray Sportswear

Vintage 70s 501s

Iron Rangers

Jacket is new to me and very pleased with it, it doesn't have an mr on the label so might be a repro of some sort? Inside label has Lee Tops 'em all which I haven't seen elsewhere, made in Poland though so obv quite recent. Well worth £20 anyway :)
