Field Jackets - vintage, repro, whatever

Great idea, b_F. Here is a Willis & Geiger field jacket made with their proprietary 100% Bush Poplin, a tightly woven 4 ply, 7.5 oz sueded cotton which is water resistant without the need for coating. Willis & Geiger outfitted everyone from Teddy Roosevelt to Sir Edmund Hillary to Hemingway; read the blue label below for a partial list of their clients.

First one's a cheap miltec, removable quilted liner, not in place right now. Cut the shoulder tabs off, cause they were kinda sucky..

Second one's a 1997 austrian army gore tex jacket, sized up a bit to wear as a parka and leave room for a fleece or something underneath. Think it wasn't issued, but had a few storagemarks here and there.

Blue blue japan tropical coat. Only worn it a handful of times so far. Really hard to capture the colour correctly. In full sun it shifts from light blue to black depending on from which angle you look at the fabric.

Ha, I also have a jungle from a Japanese designer. Only the fabric is thinner, from the rip-stop.

I've got an M-65 field jacket. Commercial version from Alpha Ind., but not Chinese. Collected in Egypt from American components, at the beginning of the century. Great, I wear with a lining. And the sleeves are short.

And the M-51. But not for the Marines, but for the National Guard already, I think so. The seller wrote that it was 1967.  It is slightly longer, the lining on the bottom is not sewn.

The photos are not fresh, though. Some are five years old. There's a French F2 jacket, and I'll find a photo later. Also 1967

M43 is my favorite field jacket as I consider it the perfect in between of the shorter/dresser/less all arounder M41, but with classic 40's styling that's not yet an M65 that's more commonly seen. Model I wear is from At the Front, and while not made in USA, I think it's great value given the quality and attention to detail whereas I haven't been able to drop $ on JPN repro equivalents:

@aho + 1 for m43 (got a real mccoys one)..but would be nice with a m65 (original) with zippers! My all time fav is the fishtail m65, and been looking for for a 48 and/or 51!

[Edit] SOLD

M65 OG107 field jacket. NOT 1st pattern, not from the 60s, presumably from the 70s (I'm not very knowledgeable, sorry)
p2p 60 cm
sleeve 48 cm
overall length 78 cm

lovely patina, couple spots on sleeves, lots of personality, CHEAP.
Would suit a tall guy best (label says 71 inches/180 cm, I'd say 185 cm or more). Sadly too long for me.

Asking 50 shipped to Italy, 60 shipped anywhere in Europe. I'm hunting for a short version now...
