There was a drive-by on Ecclesall rd last weekend outside my local Marks & Sparks, the victim was 20yr old and driving a brand new Lamborghini, he escaped and nailed it up to Whirlowdale rd, ditched his car and his friends picked him up in their brand new Rolls Royce and took him to the rugby club where they reported it.

A member of staff from M&S commented.. "It's shocking!.. Ecclesall rd isn't what it used to be..y'know"

In what respect? 20yr olds are driving Lambo's ffs!

I bet you took your passport the first time you made the trip up north .  Good to hear you've been pleasantly surprised, appreciate your candidity

I've spent a lot of time in London over the years and have seen the attitude above sometimes but definitely not always and definitely reduced over time

Londoners are even making it as far as my home town in the North West... including a certain Super Frank who is settling in very well indeed and I reckon will have a nice cup in his cabinet in May!!!

To be honest with you I had been working at home for about 18+ months at that point.  When I got on the LNER, I felt like I was on the Eurostar heading to Europe .

Gutted by the cancellation of the eastern leg of HS2, if that was still happening I would seriously consider moving.

I've not seen one, there are plenty of pumps around Sheffield, half of which don't work.. There's one just down the road from our house, i often see folks cursing because they push the connector onto the valve releasing yet more precious air then the pump wont pump it back up.. being a kindly soul .. i often take them back to our house to use my track pump :)

Spotted on my road today, a pink (and cream) Cadillac to warm the cockles of Bruce’s heart. To be honest, I thought it was Natalie Cole’s song till I looked it up.

The second photo is much further afield but still within dog-walking range (just off Portobello Rd) but has a tenuous pastel colour link

EDIT: I think this is a Mercury rather than a Cadillac.

There is a strong climbing community around Nether Edge.. a few of my friends live around here, they used to live in shared houses/bedsit land.. with no actual income or proof of.. they got self-cert mortgages in the early 90's and just rented rooms out to friends to cover their mortgage costs allowing them to live rent free so they could climb every day in the Peaks. It worked and they went on to buy 2 or 3 more houses (which other folk paid for) when Nether Edge was a bit more down at heel.. now they've almost retired, f'kin wankers! :D

This is a pretty dope project at Nether Edge

On The Brink Community

For £370,000 you can buy a share in this commune https://strike.co.uk/property-for-sale/263363  you get 2 of your own bedrooms.. your own bathroom and lots of shared living space with 1.5acres of growing space..

image.thumb.png.c7f6b63189fa435bcb4352953144ca5b.png

"On The Brink is a multi-generational cohousing community based on companionship, ecological awareness, and mutual respect. Residents of On The Brink have their own individual homes as well as sharing communal space for cooking, eating, gardening, meeting, relaxing, and having fun together. The buildings of the cohousing community sit within 1.5 acres of grounds including some wild land, a vegetable garden, a large enclosed garden, and some impressive and unusual trees. In early 2021 the second phase of the project was completed, which led to the construction of several new properties on site. In total there are now 26 members, from primary school age to mid-70s. Because of the nature of cohousing, prospective buyers will be required to apply for and be accepted for membership of On the Brink Cohousing Community. This involves filling in a questionnaire and visiting On the Brink and getting to know the other members, in order for the community to determine whether someone is a good fit"
