wow...Orrizonti-era! Great buy!

well, 66XX also had leather patch, that should help you to distinguish the 66 from the 66XX.

At least that's how it was with Shins but I think it's the same with Orrizonti- Also different rivets. The 66XX hasn't those "bubbly" rivets.

I demand fit pics!

Beautiful Freak is right. My Orrizonti-era 66xx have a leather patch and rivets that are pointier little nubs, compared with the rounded ones on yours.

Also, mine only have chain-stitching on the bottom of the inside waistband, not the top aswell.

Mr HaGa, your Kyotos look amazing. I regret selling my pair but the fit was not to my liking and therefore they didnt get much play; I hope the person who bought them from me is showing them some much needed love

Wow...I love my influence ;)

I'm really curious how you pair looks like right now. Following the contest back then and it seems, that the 1951 was a real slow fader

unfortunately i took them out of rotation shortly after the contest, so no evo worth mentioning at this moment.

They're indeed slow faders, but the good thing about that is that there's still so much life left in these, i can wear them for years to come!

Sneaked a couple of shots in the office of my XX type as all the supervisors and mangers are in a meeting, and my cubicle mates are too busy to notice how weird I am... (no worries, I am wearing khakis!) :P The iPhone, under fluorescent lighting, coupled with my poor photography "skills" just don't do justice to the nuances of the denim...

Just checked the measurements on the 1966 (new owner cut) and 66 type (old cut) and it seems that they changed both to be smaller in the waist.

From what I remember, both measured way bigger in the waist so I would have to downsize, which would have lead to tight legs.

New measurements:

On Rakuten you still find measurements, where the waist is like 5" bigger than tag size

edit: or it seems like they changed the measurements to post soak.

Finally got around to washing the Denime New 66. Will post pics when I get a chance...

Pre-measurements:

Waist: 35

Length: 32

Hem: 8.5

Post cold wash w/15 min low tumble (they're still damp):

Waist: 32

Length: 30.5

Hem: 8.0

I should've measured the thighs because these were tight as f*ck to put on. But I'm not shittin' you-- I'm thankful that they still fit at this point-- I did NOT expect this much shrink out of these. I mean, they went from 17.5 measured across with top edge aligned to 16. Not to mention the hem AND opening. Crazy.
