Denime

Recommended Posts

Hey man here they are. I have worn a lot of corduroy pants during the winters and shorts during the summers so these have not been worn that much but I do love them.

Probably not as awesome as orizzonti age denime but still great quality jeans imo.

My lucky streak with old stock Denime is still going on. First I saw this jacket on Yahoo Auction. It looked quite dark blue and I thought "why not". Upon arrival I would say it's just a one-wash version or only washed by the previous owner and not worn. Going by the care tag, they should be made before 1998.

And the second piece looked like a pair of 10th anniversary 1952 on the second-hand webshop. And they really are! Still raw. Guess the shop didn't know what they were selling exactly.

Got both items well below the original retail price :)

^ Nice find b_F.  Looking forward to fit pics.  Oh wait, you asked me for them on the 30th XX ;-)

Interesting denim texture and color on the 612.  Wasn't sure they were raw -- pretty hairy and not dark.

got the chance to handle a pair of shins 66s today. had never been worn, just hot washed and line dried.

fabric was thicker than i expected!

and felt somewhat grainy (not sure if that's the correct way to describe it)- more textured and rougher than other jeans i've handled (including resolute).

curious if that checks out with other's 66 denim experiences, can anyone chime in on this?

would love to hear about others general feelings towards the 66 fabrics.

I've never handled the Shins or Orizzonti 66 fabric, only the 66 deim of the Original Line. Grainy is exactly how it would describe the fabric so it seems that's how it should be.
I quite like the 66 denim, with the little lighter weight it drapes nicely and can worn even on hotter days.

b_F, I'm really enjoying these jeans.  The denim and cut are both good -- normal, not exaggerated.

Is there a Resolute model that fits like this?  The 710 is trimmer through the hips.

Gave the Type2 a wash, I think they really shrank a bit although probably being washed by Denime and the previous owner already. The denim stiffened up a lot again.

All my efforts to secure the patch by redoing the sewing but I didn't expect the patch suffer that much from a wash :D

It will be interesting to see what (if any) changes Warehouse brings to Denime's cuts and denim.  With encouragement from b_F, I've recently added XX and 66 pairs from Denime's Original Line.  They're fairly similar, with mid-rises and a really nice denim that is initially fairly stiff and hard-finished, but not heavy.

Never having owned anything from Denime when Hayahsi-san ran the company, I can't say how these Original Line jeans compare to the actual originals, but they're consistent with (what I understand to be) his appreciation for 'smart', clean, European lines, and less workwear oriented than what I've experienced from Warehouse.
