What’s the consensus on the quality of the current lineups fabrics?  Is it worth looking for Orizzonti or Shins at yahoo or should I just get what’s readily available? How big and what is the difference if any?

^ this is really hard to tell. Fabric-wise I still like the newer Denime products. At least the XX denim and the denim used on the standard 66 model. But Denime also introduced a lot of new basic models, also some Made in China jeans, I don't know how the quality of those products is. It doesn't hurt  to hunt for the old Denime though ;)

Some pics of Denime 66XX (Wego-era), size 36 one-wash

Measurements, size 36 one-wash
Waist: 34.5“
Front Rise: 10.8”
Back Rise: 15”
Thigh: 12.9”
Knee: 9”
Leg Opening: 7.9”
Inseam: 33.75”

I wouldn’t mind a tad higher back rise.

I’m considering purchasing some 66xx’s from the Denime site and just want to make sure I’m doing it correctly (I’m in the US)

i find my size and click “delivery overseas” which opens a new window to buysmartjapan.com where I have to pick my size again, I’m assuming?

On the buysmartjapan page under purchase specs is a list of japanese words with numbers in them.  I’m assuming are different sizes.  So I should pick the one that has “33” if I want a size 33, correct?

thanks in advance for the help.

Yeah that's the way you should do it. Since this buysmart is some kind of proxy service you have to pay a little additional fee which makes the jeans a tad more expensive than the advertised price on Denime’s homepage but also with the shipping costs it’s still a great deal.

@beautiful_FrEaK took the plunge and gave mine a cold wash and low spin in the machine, a quick measurement of the out-seam tells me they lost 1.5”. I’ll check again when they have dried.

Edit:

They lost 0.75" from the inseam and 0.25" from the thigh/knee/leg opening. Everywhere else stayed the same.

Finally got my pair of 66xx today. Love me some hairy denim!

Fit is good, but slightly big in the waist. This is where belt comes in handy. Probably will need to hem.

Also the buttons on this pair of jeans is a right bitch. It was a real struggle to do the top button, and I gave up on the other buttons. The button holes seem slightly too small for the button. Anyone else have this problem?

*Edit - not so much interest in the cheap denim lol. Seems like most people like the hairy effect or vertical fading, hard to say if FirstDenime budget line will have these effects.

Found some new "FirstDenime" discount jeans by denime. Looks like cheaper version of their normal 505 denim jeans, but still made in Japan, about $60. Ordered a pair and will report back on quality.

Seems to lack the "hairy" quality of the more expensive jeans, and has a paper patch instead of leather.

The blue tab suggests it being an international model. Denime was distributed (mainly?) in the UK in the 90s. Since Denime produced many models without giving proper names it’s hard to clearly identify them.
From the details it’s some sort of 1933 model. Belt loops and suspender buttons. Not sure what kind of denim is used but I’m pretty sure it’s not their XX denim. Selvedge line looks kinda black? Maybe it’s Denime’s take on the Levis 201?!

History of Denime is not very clear and there is not much to find on the internet (at least not in English).

Edit: Ed beat me to it.

european release denime looks like a 1922 repro?

Yes I lived in England in the 90s so that will be where they were purchased. I actually bought them off one of my fashion conscious friends - I don't recall what I paid but they have served me well. Unfortunately I don't fit into them now, although I do wear them occasionally I just need to leave two buttons undone :D

Would anyone have a pair of 805XX to sell? 32-34 would be great.

Thanks!
