Haven’t worn the comp jeans nearly as much since the last update. Maybe 4-5 days a week. I’ve mended the cuffs, pocket bags, the knees and a small hole on the seat so far. 12 washes.

Haven’t been using my TCB60’s at all for a while now because I was afraid that the knees would become unmendable. Tonight I finally got a minute to mend one of them.

I believe I’m at 10 washes and loads of mends. Contemplating when they’re going to be “best”. How long should one go?

Wearing my TCB60’s more infrequently now because of the state the fabric is in. Another mend today, at the left leg where my keys’re making the fabric thin. Still at 10 washes. Trying to hold off a bit now to create a bit more contrast.

Paper patch still in good condition but red tab is getting really tattered.

Hi All,

I’m back briefly from the internet grave to give you an update on what is happening as we approach the end of the contest. Again, my apologies for not being around but these days I am almost entirely “internet retired” due to work, family and personal commitments.

So at the end of the contest I will set up final submission threads on both Superfuture and the Iron Heart forum for those still competing to put forward their final set of pictures, plus any information regarding their jeans that they may feel is relevant.

After this I will do a full review of the contest threads to ensure that only people who have actually “competed”, by posting regular updates throughout the duration of the contest.

The final step will be to set up an email address for contestants (and only contestants) to submit their votes for the winner, I can verify this through my email list.

The timescale will be….

-          One month after end of contest to submit final pictures

-          One month after final submissions for voting

-          Up to one month (probably less) for vote counting and issuing of the final prize.

The prize pot will be awarded solely to the winner, no second or third prizes, and the pot stands at £703 (after deduction of Paypal transaction fees).

Good luck to all still playing,

Mega

Never posted an update because I didn't think the jeans were faded enough, but here goes!

Took my jeans back to where they were made and the man that made them :)

Love that you’re back for an update!

Regarding the above, isn’t there a risk of people voting for a least likely winner as to better their own chances of winning? I don’t know if there’s a better solution to this though.

We also have the complication of the comp going on two forums at once. Some are members of both and thus potentially could have more votes than the ones on just one of the two. Again, I don’t know how to solve this, I just saw a potential problem.

Thanks for the welcome back :)

Regarding the voting, I doubt either will prove an issue because.....

- Not everyone will submit a final update, and if there is a suspicious voting pattern from anyone I will open it up to a public vote (I doubt very much that this will be necessary).

- Regardless of being a member of both forums they can still only vote with the email address I have for them when they sent in their prize contribution.

Cheers @501XX4EVER! I think l’ll use them a few more months but then I’ll consider them retired. Kinda wished the comp was just for one year.

Understandable sentiment -- those TCBs are lookin' damn fine right now.

I'm personally quite grateful for another summer and autumn before this thing wraps up! Still got plenty of fading to do...

I'm still in this w/ my IH-888-NT's. 12+ months of wear and as many washes. These things loose dye faster than any other pair I've had experience with. These pics are from a  few weeks ago, and they continue to get lighter in the thighs, I don't sit much, so I'm not getting distinct whiskers and combs on this pair.

Time to officially kick off the contest now that the jeans have reached at least some of you!
Fabric: A14 oz denim with a very light pink selvedge-ID made by a blend of US cotton. It was made to capture the essence of vintage Cone and I'd say it turned out very well. It starts out flat and uniform before it hits water, then it crocks like crazy. Should get some nice vertical falling. The fabric is made exclusively for Denimbridge by Yamaashi mill in Okayama on a Toyoda shuttleloom. According to Shingo it's a small factory which is an important factor for both Shingo and us in this project.
If you want to see a little of how the fabric ages Shingo has started using it for his latest Denimbridge cut. http://denimba.com/denimbase/2018/11/03/23478
You can read more about the jeans on my blog indigoveins.com and also a piece on the guys behind the jeans.
The contest length: The contest will run until January 31th. After that you will all have until February 28th to post the final pics.
The prizes: The winner will win a pair of Denimbridge jeans, sponsored by Denimbridge, and the runner-up gets a €200 voucher from Göteborg Manufaktur.
The jury: A jury of 5 will judge the contest winner: Shingo-san, Kuniyoshi-san, Jonas and Olof that runs Gbg Mfg and myself.

Hey guys, I have some very exciting news to share. Soon I will release a collaboration I’ve done with my good friends at http://www.goteborgmanufaktur.se and Shingo-san of Denimbridge, sewn by the one man army Kuniyoshi-san of Double Volante in their new project Denim Base. 14 oz greatness made in Japan with a really nice vintage vibe to the fabric and a lovely olive herringbone fabric for the pocketbags.

Since there's been talk about doing a Denimbridge contest for a few years now I was thinking now might be a good time with a special release. The jeans will be made in August so a contest could be possible to start late September.
The prize: The winner will win two prizes: a pair of Denimbridge jeans, sponsored by Denimbridge, and also a prize from Göteborg Manufaktur.
Pre-order: The pre-order is running until June 15th via https://goteborgmanufaktur.se/brands/goteborg-manufaktur/goteborg-manufaktur-x-indigo-veins-x-denimbase-gbg001-jeans-pr.html
I'll have more info to share in the next couple of days and will post more details about the jeans. But for now, what do you guys say, shall we put up a contest?

As the current DWC has drawn to a close there have been the inevitable questions from all over the cyberspace, which I occupy, as to whether there will be another contest for 2017 – 2019. Today I am pleased to make the announcement that there will be, and confirm a few details about what to expect.

The theme of the latest DWC will be “back to basics”, meaning we’re going to scrap everything from the previous contests and make this one as accessible to everyone as it possibly can be, this means…

Any brand or style of jeans can enter. There will be no weight categories, just one contest fits all. All entered jeans must have only 30 wears or less on day 1 of the contest. Speaking of day 1, the contest will begin on 01/11/17 and run for the standard 24 months to 01/11/19. The contest will be purely forum based, on both Superfuture and the Iron Heart forum only. Registration is open now, and will close 31/10/17. Registration fee for the contest will be a flat $20, payable via Paypal to [email protected] . Upon registration you will be issued an entry number to validate your participation. The entry fee will be used to purchase prizes from our favourite brands and retailers for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Prizes will be announced as soon as possible after registration is complete. Once again we have something quite special planned with our friends at Iron Heart for contest jeans. Our judging panel is currently TBD.
So that is all for now, we’re looking forward to setting off on another denim journey with you all again soon.

      Regards,

      Mega
