Happy Jeans - Tcb 20s contest thread

It's very simple to change the inseam length but as far as I'm aware, increasing the rise will change the whole pattern for the top as it will require larger yoke panels too. I'm not aware of any non-bespoke manufacturer that provides a variable rise option.

front and back rise lengths are graded between sizes - some companies do offer different models of the same basic cut with shorter or longer rise, but they will always grade the rise between sizes (or size groups).

individual rise measurements will result in indivdual, customized patterns with additional pattern changes/adjustments (fly front length, back rise length, back joke adjustemts). possible results could include unbalanced patterns and pissed-off customers at high production cost...

Changing rise means a complete redesign of the top block - the most complicated part of the jeans. That's the reason Levi's only offer three variations of rise for their £500 bespoke items. Zips are standard lengths so the (complicated) zip section needs redesigning. Yoke, as you've mentioned, will be a different length and angle (and the yoke is one of the most complicated sections to make). Then the shape of the seat will change for each variation in rise, as it tapers up to the waistband, with a kind of shoulder. So each change in rise makes for a redesign of the jean. Replicated across a range of sizes of course.

Did I mention that I'm back in? ;)

Messaged volvo-san on instagram a few days back, but honestly, seeing that patch, learning about the back pocket design, seeing Sir Paul also joining in made me jump back on the bandwagon :D There's also a bit of redemption needed on my end after such a poor showing in the TCB50's contest; You can trust I'll be UP sizing this time!

I am going back and forth with myself if I should join, especially seeing what fine guys are part of the fun...but alas...I don't think I can make the 20s style work.

you can make it work, it's not an overly wide cut!

It's not so much the wide cut (both my Conner's are wider and with the right inseam length it works) it's more about the cinch and exposed rivets :D

You're picky like a girl! :D

errrrrr

I am more picky than any girl I know...

it is a sad historical situation that has put women in the space of 'appearance' [with men in the sphere of 'utility'] and then scolded them for their vanity / fatuity...

I claim my petty fatuousness and wear it on my sleeve / rear pockets...

anyway

re: final sizing I PMed you b4 but needs adjustment on the chart shared here just in case that is the final document: w.38, l.83 after wash

thank you!
