Happy Jeans - Tcb 20s contest thread

Recommended Posts

Ha, mine just returned to everyday wear after the insanely hot summer is coming to an end. > 100 wears by now, traveled to Tuscany for our 2 week vacation but only 1 chance to wear them in Volvo's nazione (only one slightly cooler, rainy day). But at least I got almost as tan as my wallet rope!

I knew they were good but all of the praise is putting my ego through the roof!

can we talk about the dedication the the 20's aesthetic? buying a washboard just to wash your jeans that's impressively extra. too much for me but i respect that

My pair is evening out to a uniform blue as my washing routine takes it's toll...I'll probably have zero contrast and have no hige to speak of, but at least it's reflective of my daily wear and honestly I don't mind. Wish the indigo held on a bit more to enable slow fades, but that'll be a good thing come contest end when everyone checks in.

I have got some old photos from the beginning of summer Ive been meaning to post. I stopped wearing for most of June/July/August due to the heat and didnt want to have to wash daily so I wore my TCB carpenters ( i need to update with photos of them as well).

I just put mine out to dry after a recent wash and will upload those as well. Im glad to see everyone posting again, its been a hot lazy summer for me.

I went to Lisbon some time ago. Lovely city with steep hills, it was like Gothenburg on steroids.

Amongst other things we visited a coach museum. It was surprisingly awsome and mesmerizing looking closely at the craftsmanship from the last 500 years.

This is the first automobile that came to Portugal. If I remember correctly it had 4 horse power, haha.

Back in Gothenburg there was a flea market with some good music and art exhibitions last weekend.

One of the oldest coffee companies in town was serving espresso straigth out of this old Volvo.

Patch is holding on for dear life...Given it's multiple trips through the washer/dryer across two pairs now, I can't say I'm surprised but it's really lending toward a true vintage look that I like.

Marbling on the other hand is a bit too "3D", but reflective of actual lifestyle choices so I won't complain or call out as unauthentic. That said, we should all start sanding our jeans now that Uncle Karl is back in the fray :D

@volvo240thebest I knew you’d be first, what size did you order? I’d like to get the blue chambray but I’m not sure how reliable the chest measurement is - do TCB measure pit-to-pit straight across or use a strange 360 degree method?

I went with a 44 just because Inoue said he wears that size and we know we have similar measurements. with the ranchman the chest was taken 360 degree style. All my other tops are 42, and excluded the 50s jacket, all the others are a bit on the trim side.
btw he also launched a new olive duck 50s jacket that looks fabolous...

Let me ask Inoue..

[edit] here's the response
