It seems that the number of contestants from Japan will increase slightly. Thank you for creating lists.

All the cool kids do it so I gave mine a wash today, too :) Here's two pre wash pics since they're still drying. I'm blown away how there's a phone fade on the left butt pocket, I don't sit on my phone and only put it in that pocket when standing or walking around, I have never gotten a phone fade before :D I bet those jeans will be plain white in 18 months.

yeah they loose their indigo so quick that I'll make sure to not overwash, I look forward to see Aho's jeans in 12 months haha!

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying to read on IG what the Japanese dudes write, some of them are making an effort to write captions both in Japanese AND English. Curious to see that using "glue" (which I guess it's some sort of liquid starch) on the inside of jeans seems to be a quite popular routine to maximise the creases... I've tried once to pimp up my creases with normal starch and wasn't very satisfied with the results, I guess I won't try to do this on the 20s and just keep going the natural way, but I will make some more experiments in the future... also dunno why but I don't feel like a 20s pair calls for extra dramatic creases, I think it will look better with a more natural approach. But I'd love to try the glue thing the way japanese do on a 50's 60's pair.
@Uncle Karl what kind of product is this glue? Do you make it at home or you just buy it like normal starch??? Hope google translate will work for this haha!

nice updates all: hoping to postpone my immanent wash deadline through skin/cloth barrier of thermals... great looking crinkles @aho how is the leg of the garment doing?

[and then, with bumping as intention: hoping not thread overstuffing...]

a jumbled lifework update list arranged according to temporal sequence rather than thematics... handiworking; some nakiri sharpening (other things of my japanological interests), mirror edges, blacksmith finishes, steel types (blue, white, aogami, shiro-ko, shirogami) cat bowls and unseasonal dressed salads

>would be very interested to see other steel hardware from @Uncle Karl if possible; saws, chisels and the like…

jeans-wise; losing suspensions, belting, drooping and double cuffing, encountering thom gunn’s elizabethan metrical almost-modernism, then punched in the ear for my troubles (punch harder you say), close-encounters with crystal palace antenna, built in 1956, a mini-eiffel nestling among victorian ruins

more cuffs, more fit-pix

Nice contrast already! I washed mine twice in the machine initially and thought I got all the shrink out but then after my first wash after wear (3rd overall) they shrank even a little more. I was too surprised though- that seems to happen with all my jeans from tcb.

Wow! ! It is starch, is not it! ! ! ! Thank you for showing me! Thank you! Do you mix it with water moderately?

Mix it with very warm water, put in a spray bottle. Wash your clothes, then spray the starch on and then iron the clothes.

You can find lots of examples of starching collars up until the 1920s, for example:
