^ wow; amazing set up for great fade pattern there!

having exchanged fabric tension for comfort can only look on; cant compete against what gonna come from that...

kinda similar pattern to inoue's originals?

Thanks - but seriously, these are TTS and still my comfiest pair ever. I just put them one before they were fully dry to set creases ;)

I also doubt anything spectacular will come from me, for one my lifestyle ist just too sedentary and secondly my washing machine is way too mild on clothes, plus I don't own a dryer ;)

Went to the Christmas market for the first time this season today, didn't take too many pictures but here's my daughter looking out over the Danube at the cathedral, daughter and my wife's cousin's daughter taking a stroll and a bad mirror pic at H&M looking for gloves and a hat in the children's section.

UPDATED CONTESTANT LIST!
Dunno if you noticed but most of the Japanese guys started to write in English their comments on IG under the #tcb20scontest hashtag, which is great.
They even started using a Japanese specific hashtag for the contest which is #tcb20scontestに参加します (I will participate in the tcb 20s contest) which Karl created to keep track of all the Japanese contestants.
Haven't lost yet my hope to convince Karl San The Japanese Serial Pants Fader to start posting here, been chatting a bit with him today via IG dm and he can write in English pretty well.
The list is not fully comprehensive yet, there is a couple guys from Hong Kong that I still need to identify, plus some other people from Philippines. If I forgot anyone else please let me know!

To all orders not arrived yet:

  1. GOOD NEWS: your jeans were made Thursday nov 30th and shipped yesterday (dec 1st 2017).
  2. BAD NEWS: Inoue sent all the jeans to Regiment Store and then they'll take care of shipping to all the final destinations, presumably via DHL. I think you'll need another 7/10 days to receive the jeans.

:D

Warning: Non denim related post coming, but my weekend so far....
Blue watch of choice for #SeikoSaturday (my "other" obsession from denim, watches)
37910945545_e2ebfc4a30_z.jpg

Checked out a new Vietnamese restaurant here in Chicago, Ca Phe Da, which is part of a wave of the "gentrification" of our Pilsen neighborhood. Sorry to say, but I'm all for authentic food being cooked at great levels, by equally enthusiastic, warm and passionate chefs, so bring it on.
Chicken Rice

the mix of the freshest herbs was incredible, yet balanced and not overpowering

The bahn mi was equally impressive
27021649759_2773980622_z.jpg

Of course topped it off with ice coffee....We actually ordered a Chicken Salad (Goi Ga, best dish we had) and Ca Phe Trung (mind blowing egg custard coffee) as well, but my pictures didn't turn out unfortunately. Looking forward to trying their pho, and their "serious" restaurant next door, Hai Sous.

yeah man, embrace the ultra loose fit!!!!   the roping on the hem has been insanely fast for this denim.  faster then the 60, the 50 and the seamen pants.  actually the roping has been as fast on the black cat jelt denim chore jacket.  crazy!

Some musings from the past this weekend... I had a formal event to go to, I was told the dress code was tux and I immediately thought 20s 30s and ranchman would be the perfect tux but I thought better of it. I'm in the middle of the tux photo. Also we had the super moon and a plane got in the way of my photo. Finally some denim shots.

On a side note- its a shame the what sufu does to photo quality

No video art, but I just returned from some woods near our kindergarden where St.Nicholas has been beating some sense into the kids (no wait, that was back in my parents' day). Noticed some mud stains and thought "great excuse to wash them" :D Opted for spot cleaning instead though.

Luckily I had my potato with me to capture stunning shots like this:

And here's another fit pic, same old stuff:

My small triumph for the day was finally getting an Everest figure, although it's some fugly Russian version. Fucking Everest is out of stock everywhere and scalpers are taking >90€ on Amazon for what should cost 8€ max. Feeling like "Jingle all the way" up in here. I just hope my daughter won't really care once she can complete her collection of pups on Christmas...

in yet more solidarity (only top trumps tho) this time of the paw patrol kind: pup pup booogie...

never even heard of that thing.  so glad my kid isnt obsessed with a specific brand or theme that forces me to hunt it down like a pair of rare denim haha.  .  She loves watching the weirdest cartoons on Netflix though.  We rotate between Maya the Bee, Sofia the First, Space Racers and some other weird show where jets and airplanes deliver packages to different parts of the world and there's a little lesson on culture.

I have nothing to report on the denim front.  I have  not skipped a day wearing them, and they have had an initial wash to rid them of shrink and an additional wash to ensure all shrink was eliminated.  I love the cut.  If I could change anything it would be the rise to be a spot lower.  Never thought i would say that but there you are.  I also have concluded that exposed rivets are too much of a liability to me and my surroundings so these might get pounded down in the near future.

I have been working on my geneology again and have finally made some progress, at least on my dads side of the family.  Typical peasant shit, leaving the deep south of Italy in the early 1900's to come to America and ending up in the Pittsburgh area coal mines and steel mills.  Found a few of them copped Tuberculosis and died relatively early.  One thing though that was stumping me for years was my dads grandma's background.  It was a literal dead end.  I have some documents but I found her death certificate on-line which answered some questions.  But everywhere I looked it showed her last name as Teropoli.  Nobody exists with that last name anywhere.  Then, as I was trolling the Antenati, I found both my great grandfather and grandmothers birth certs.  My Italian is not good but I can read it ok.  Turns out these peasants in Calabria wrote their "I" to look exactly like a "T" in the USA.  Her last name was Ieropoli.  Thats why I couldnt find shit.  Anyways, its a trip to see this shit after decades of half assed searches.  #'s 51 and 23.

Volvo, please tell me you have like 3 middle names also haha

Mostly on my own.  I did sign up for Family Search (free) which is run by the Church of Latter Day Saints.  They have an extensive record of this kind of stuff on file and I found a lot of scanned census stuff through them.  That said, some stuff is only available to view either at one of their family research locations (they are everywhere).  I use a separate e-mail address specifically for this kind of thing so I dont get bombarded by church stuff.  That said, lots of this stuff is public record so if you figure out who to ask and where to look you can find stuff.

my wife (American) and her family are/have been doing the same - tracing their roots back only to find out that grand-grand ma was Austrian, not Italian.

Yet, they still hold on to their tradition of Spaghetti Bolognese for xmas...

It's my own fault - if I hadn't started buying those things she wouldn't even know about the toys ^^ But to be honest there's worse things she could be obsessed with. The cartoon is well made and at least there's no princess stuff, those pups run around helping and saving people. Sure, it's primary objective is to sell toys, but quality-wise it's miles above the crap from my childhood. I know my parents couldn't stand watching He-Man and the likes...

I'm sorry to report that like any other XX cent. Italian peasant I'm only provided with one middle name, and it's only on the certificato di nascita, not even in my ID/passport.

That would be Super Wings. My daughter likes it but her first obsession had switched lately from Masha and the Bear to Frozen. She's developing a quite admirable brand loyalty to Frozen hahaha, just yesterday she said to me that when she'll be an adult she wants to have a Frozen watch!
