I was so surprised there was no one mentioned Denimio is keeping on selling UNFAIRï¼ILLEGAL price for most of the brands they carry so that was why more and more Japanese brands cut off the dealership with Denimio

Before you become a Japanese dealer for the brands, you must reach the agreement that you will never ever sell cheaper retail price which they make (with JP TAX). Or if you wanna do the sale, you must send them the emails to tell them what is the reason that you wanna do the sale.

For the the customers oversea who wanna buy the products without JP tax , there are only 2 ways:

1. You buy your own ticket to visit Japan then buy stuffs in selected "Tax Free" shops, the staffs must record your Passport NO, name , address ect and will give you the invoices then you have to show them to the CUSTOM before you fly off from Japan then you will enjoy TAX FREE prices!

2. If you wanna buy JP stuffs online with a TAX FREE price, the JP retailers must send your parcel with tracking number and claim the FULL PRICE in the invoice! Then the retailers must give the full priced invoices from JP Post with tracking number to JP government to approve THEY DO SHIP THOSE PARCELS TO OVERSEA CUSTOMERS and then the retailers will get tax free for these oversea deals

Denimio does not meet both conditions and they fake invoices for many oversea customers (that means Denimio can not get a "Tax-Free-Deal" from JP government)  which means they make UNFAIR/LOWER THAN JP RETAIL price by themselves (because they eat off the tax cost ) that is why Miki of Full Count asked him to raise up the price at least to the JP retail price with tax . Many brands already give Denimio warnings many many times and wait for his legal movement over a year but Denimio still insist on " Lower Than JP Price System" so that is the major reason why more brands cut off the dealership

Not only oversea dealers complaint about Denimio as well as many JP dealers complaint about Denimio because of the UNFAIR price they mark. Denimio is the first guy who made a "Pricing Competition" so many Rakuten stores lost their own customers just because Denimo has cheaper price, you got what i mean? Many of you living in western countries, getting benefits from "Minimum Wages System" ,if you support Denimio's UNFAIR PRICE System, why you hate illegal people in USA or somewhere who only asked for 5USD/HOUR wage for cleanning/cooking/building ect and claimed they steal your jobs?

So this is why Okayama Denims still deal with many brands and ship them parcels globally, their prices are real JP retail price and go with free shipping service a'ight (even they mark down the value illegally but that is still all right...)? People want FAIR, it does not matter JP dealers or oversea dealers, of course especially many dealers oversea put a lot of efforts and million dollar into this industry ,meeting risks ect, they just want a FAIR competition, is it really an unfair issue to some of y'all?

I have no idea who you are, but you understand the situation and process very well.

one thing I will say about Denimio and OD, they both have the shittiest websites i've ever browsed through. I mean Jesus H. Christ, it takes forever just to load product info.

Probably because they undercut the price of their IT.  How can us B&M IT workers hope to compete when you can stand a website up overseas so much cheaper and it works everywhere around the globe!

As a general rule, Japanese websites are completely terrible. Mostly because they're designed to work on Japanese flip-phones from ten years ago, but also because Japan seems to be completely lacking in decent web designers...

The 2ND website, for example, is probably the ugliest, most useless website I've ever seen. Too bad they're the only shop that stocks everything from Flat Head and Samurai.

If there was just one misconception I wish I could correct regarding Japan, this would be it.

I think I worded it incorrectly. I meant as in low tech in terms of comms, which may still be a misconception.

When I went there, I was shocked that lots of things are still paper based. And that fax is still important. Things like that.

Whoops, might've been unclear - I agree with you! Japan is a low-tech country that's convinced everyone else it's high tech.

I was born in Japan and lived there til my teen yrs (mom is Japanese) and my experience is that they do in fact lack in technology in some areas and many other regards. On the one hand, they do develop amazing consumer tech, but I remember going to a hospital one time to get x-rayed and the machine they used looked like it was straight outta the 60's. I'm basing this off of hospitals in the US where everything is state of the art. Also, their infrastructure seems a bit run down. The hospitals look like crap as well as the universities.

The idea that i'd be in this thread for self promotion is hilarious to me.  I'm here because it's fun, i still enjoy posting on forums.

You don't think after 10 years and 5 stores i'd be able to hire somebody to post on forums for us for promotion?   That sounds terrible to me, hence why you still have to deal with me in all corners of the internet.

Sometimes i think we could have more fans of the store if you got me off the internet.  (4)

if you can switch hats between threads/posts that easily, it's truly great because i think there are people who give a lot of weight to your opinions

i shop both online (never from denimio) and at b&m stores, mostly at b&m stores b/c i live in a city with good stores, like SE; while i don't like the recent direction of some of the SE-related posts (ie pop stars and hipster fashion) I still go to the store b/c i almost always get something unexpected that looks different in person, wasn't on the website, etc.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm genuinely curious what we've done recently is for pop-stars or hipsters.

We've pretty much been doing the same thing for 10 years and any new directions we've taken have been because i've personally become interested in new/different things/fashions over the past 10 years, which i feel is healthy for both a person and a retail store as long as you don't jump from trend to trend.

maybe he means the fact that now pop stars like Adam Levine and Pharrel are shopping at SE

Pop stars like them have been shopping with us for almost ten years.  We have a fairly decent celebrity client list from various industries it just so happens that Levine owns so much stuff from us and he's constantly in the press/tv so you see him wearing it all; with Pharrel, we were just stoked that he came to SEMX to buy some vacation-wear.

We don't seek out celebrities in any way and our stores don't offer the type of "here's a bottle of our branded water" service you see at places like Maxfield, we're just grateful that people that have free clothes given to them from every angle would still come to us to shop.

There is a chance I may be moving to Orange County.  Anyone know if it really ever gets cold enough that I can still wear my TFH winter flannels and my IH blanket lined type 3?  I'm guessing in the winter months in the morning it is still probably cool enough to require some kind of overshirt.

If you move to orange county, you'll have to meet up with myself and another buddy who loves flat head!

In the daytime you're almost never going to be wanting to wear anything warm, but I'd say that virtually every morning and night it will be cold enough to wear whatever you want. 65 will become your new cold!

Alot of porn star males has been buying from signet . And gay mascular individuals. And yeah we never promote to these people and we are happy we even hired a staff that most of our gay customers are fond of.

couldn't posting a photo of pharrell shopping at SE change or change/enhance the image of SE (e.g. by implying that it is "cool enough for pharrell")? I'm not arguing that there's something wrong or untrue about that or that people who respect pharrell's taste shouldn't shop at SE, but i personally don't have any respect for him (he's a plagiarist among other things..)...while the rockabilly aspect of SE and some japanese brands may not have ever been something many people would find immediately familiar, it would seem a big shift from rockabilly to pharrell or maroon 5 (i'm not trying to imply that SE is actually making that sort of shift, but i think i could understand why they would go in a more mainstream direction)

maybe related/unrelated, it seems like there are more big/wild print shirts in the past few years than before (not that there were none before, but seems like there are more big/wild prints now, and less simple shirts t-shirts excluded) there's also a lot slim tapered cuts like the 3sixteen ST cut in many different denims

i can't agree your points...

1.First of all, Pharrell will 100% enhance the image of Self Edge (I suggest Kiya should post "Pharrell Shopping In SE" photo in internet if you get a chance). We don't really need to talk about "Japanese Denims" which just cost 200~ 300USD per pair. When Pharrell and G Dragon wears Lewis Leathers in public, the sale just double up in very a few months and keep on growing up in this year. I heard Drake just open up a OVO shop next to SE, if Drake gives a shout out to SE, that would be great as well! When a guy put all his life and money in opening shop(s) in his country(countries) and swear themselves to promote JP Denims for life, what they want is to make more local people know what they are doing... That is also a sign that Kiya makes JP Denims more mainstreamed in his areas and make more people understand what the "JP STANDARD QUALITY STUFFS" ARE so even Pharrell and Levine wanna pay for SE (Even they can get so many free stuffs from big brands)

2.I just dont understand why you claimed Pharrell is(or was?) plagiarist? Just because as you think, he is a pop singer/rapper who couldn't wear 5 pocket jp denims or any other reason? The 5 Pockets Denim design was created for workers (I dont need to explain more about  that in SF, right?) The pure design was for miners/cowboys 100 years ago? If Pharrell is a plagiarist, I guess John Lennon was , why he dressed himself up as a worker? And I guess, we are all fakes as well, I questioned myself now: Why i wear a pair of hiking boots today? Do I really wanna hike in the mountain? Why I just wear a triple stitched collar plain tee ? That design in 1960s was called Gym fit Underwear and nobody will wear it in public, am i ready to go to sleep soon or do I like to practise some kickings in next minute? And I also consider maybe I should give away my leather rider jackets to someone else who do really ride a motorbike daily cuz i do only take trains to work and i didnt even learn how to ride a bike or even drive a car... I recognised myself as "FAKESET MF IN THE WORLD NOW!!!!"

3.Slim Tapered is not so bad (or even one of the best choices) for most of Western customers, It is OK if you are not into ST fit, everyone has different feelings/views for the cuts. someone has very skinny leg/big belly and big hip, they won't look great in loose fit  .so that is why some people choose Slim Tapered fit for a reason ,please ACCEPT OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS WITH YOU
