Edwin Jeans..

I need some size advice regarding the Edwin Overworks Vintage 1940s/1960s Jeans.

How much do they shrink, and do they come up large like their other jeans?

I usually wear a size 34 in Roy, etc.

You could call Son of a Stag, they may still sell them, I know they did in the past.

I decided to cut of my old Edwin Nashvilles to shorts.

I have been thinking of doing this for quite some time.

But somehow it has felt wrong "ruining" them.

Anyhow, done is done and I am happy with the result.

Now I got a lovely pair of shorts for the summer months. :)

Goo job Nizzel, I did the same to my Waynesvilles a few years back, although I didn't spend an extra £20 on getting them hemmed, I simply chopped them and double cuff. I have another pair of Waynesvilles and a pair of ED69s awaiting the same treatment...

Is there anywhere in Japan that have Overworks (XXX Vintage) jeans for Sale outside of the Edwin Store? They are sold out of my size and I would like to proxy a pair from there as its about half the price of buying them here.

Here is ED39, have been wearing about a year with a few washes. Tag size is 30” but they are almost 33 now.

Has anybody known how much the ED47 rainbow selvedge model stretch out? I am looking for the last pair of them in size 30 but my waist is actually 32”. I really love the rainbow-selvdge fabric before they were changed to the red selvedge though.

I’ve got the ed-47’s in a 29. They measure a bit over 16 inches with the waistband aligned and pulled tight. I think that’s straight from the washer but can’t be sure as I haven’t worn these for some years. I used to sell Edwin at the store where I worked and they’re often huge in the waist. Bare in mind that the ed-47 have quite the low waist. I think you’ll be fine with a 30”.

I have posted this on the Levi's 511 section also.

does anyone know why edwin place the pockets on the ed55 so low.

This would easily be my go to denim if it wasn't for the back pocket placement as they are too low, when wearing they look like they are sagging. Not the right look for me, look how low they are compared to the Levi's 511 which fit very similar and infact look better except 511 also have a problem they are zip fly,Also own ed75 but the thigh area is relax fit but they also have very minor problems won't talk about that here.

I think that is simply the style of the ED-** range, my ED-69s have very low back pockets too. I’m not sure anyone on here can explain why Edwin design them like that, you’d probably have to contact the company and ask directly.

These are my new ed75 sanforized red selvedge denim raw although I always give them a soak before wear, and no different here. This fit needs more attention in the community as I find these as good as ed 55 if not better with the back pocket placement. It has a slightly higher rise than ed55 which I love a bit of extra room in the crotch area always nice IMO. 584BFDEF-0F9D-452A-A50D-9E73353E1B16.thumb.jpeg.aa2d9eefc1f6c97e66ce51f6b28fdee4.jpeg

@VDC

that looks nice I need to add a pair of Edwin rainbow selvedge to my collection I find that the rainbow pairs fade to a purplish/blue but the red selvedge ones just turn to a light blue. Def next pair will be rainbows and will go for made in Japan regular classic taper. Also anyone got any experience with them please comment, thanks

I cut an old pair of ED-69 (that haven’t been worn in about 7 years) into shorts today and will rotate them with my ancient Edwin Waynesville cut-downs. It’s the only way I can wear denim in the current heat.

Generally, the Japanese made models are best, including imo, the old Waynesvilles, Nashvilles and Greenvilles. Much of the stuff is made in Tunisia now though, including all the European ED lines. There are premium Japanese models knocking about, which normally cost a bit more, eg the Overworks range.
