-          A selection of your favourite pictures of your jeans from the last 2 years.

Additional details

All submissions must be made by April 30th at the absolute latest, no submissions made after this date will be considered.

Fit pics over time. It took a couple months for them to break in enough to look good worn, but I really liked how they fit for most of the time:

First one is before I put them into a quadruple cuff:

Repairs!!! Forgot to show this originally, so I'm adding it here to avoid making another post. I counted 29 total repairs to the jeans, but I'm sure I'm missing at least one or two. Some are really subtle, while others are much more obvious.

That time when my left front pocket fell off. This wasn't really machine workable with our machine at this point, so it was handstitched back on, which took forever.

Subtle stitch reattachment, although it blew out again and I didn't bother to fix it the 2nd time:

I'm glad to have participated with so many cool competitors. I ended up taking a lot more pictures than I might otherwise have done, so this contest really helped me log everything that I did over the last 2 years. Good stuff. Thanks to the judges for taking the time to look over everyone's jeans!

Samurai 710, 19oz (heavyweight category).

Final submission! It's been a great two years! I got engaged, traveled all over the US and to Africa, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest freestanding mountain at 5895 meters (every step in these jeans), hiked a bunch of other mountains, skied over 100 times (every time in these jeans), went for runs in the jeans a couple dozen times when I didn't have shorts handy, and completed the vast majority of my PhD, despite looking ridiculously unprofessional over the past few months with my underwear showing through the rips on the thighs. Haha.

Looking back over the 2 years, what's most striking to me about the jeans now is just how little indigo is left, despite only 16 washes, all either by hand or on a gentle wash (all but 1 or 2 with woolite). I went out of my way to not artificially remove indigo by washing, but it's gone from all of this wear anyway. One other thing to keep in mind is that I really worked hard to keep these from falling apart with frequent repairs until ~4 months to go, when I gave up on that, so all of the tearing is just from a few months. Final fit pics part 1:

I think these are EXTRA white due to the sun's intensity at elevation.

What do you think?

Final submission time! I wish I would have worn my Steel Feathers SF0121 more but in the end they were a little too tight and heavy for my liking. So this is what you can do to a a pair of Steel Feathers with 12 months of active wear and around 8-9 washes.

It's been fun as hell though, the challenges definitely pulled this big show in the right direction.
