any idea if they stretch a bit in the waist? i’m not wearing them yet because i need them hemmed, but the waist is pretty snug.

Given that the denim is very lightweight they'll stretch a bunch. Mine were tight in the beginning as well but they quickly turned comfy as hell.

@volvo240thebest thank you man !

@Graytrain I really love the fit of my 50's, so would be great to achieve the same kind of look on the S40S.

TCB 50s after two months

Haven't done much during these weird times except yard work and hiking so I have some great butt fades showing! Love these jeans so much, washed them every other week or so. Stoked to see how they continue to develop.

Interesting how Hajime went over how the steel rivets & pocket come together in the [wartime] sewing production line environment. One notable feature w/c was good to know was, there was no bartack reinforcement, w/c usually occur at the beginning of attaching the back pocket flap ... before rivets installation.

‘Got a question about the WW2 painted broken arcs.  I noticed variants in repro arc shapes & colors through the years.  Was there any particular [official] WW2 painted arcuate?!

@BrownMetallic I was thinking the same thing. Maybe @Paul T could help out.

Paul, or others, what color did Levi's originally use for the painted arcs? Was it this brown gold thread color? I think I've even seen darker green.

Think about the whole rationing concept - I’d say use whatever colour you have and in the same spirit of the lottery pocket bags, even if not period correct, it will be on a moral and environmental level and will certainly capture the zeitgeist of the contest.

Well I recently painted my living room "Cotton Gray" so it sounds like some slightly off white arcs coming my way.

I assumed you used emulsion if you’re talking about your walls. I think you may need an acrylic paint for the arcs to prevent it from washing out.

Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about. It seems to stay quite well on denim as I have a pair of fullcount jeans with it all over them. Been through the wash since a handful of times and still there. I think I will give it a shot! Create a template for it, and do it. Worst case it washes out and I need to do it over with more appropriate paint.

With mister Volvo being swamped with work I'll share the workload of the organizing the tour.

To our great delight we've successfully talked Inoue-san into another SUFUxTCB adventure. Following the TCB 50's contest, the introduction of the ranchman shirt and the upcoming TCB 20's contest in 2018, we're now also doing a world tour - starring a prototype of the very jean we will rock in the next TCB contest. Inoue and his crew is basing the jeans off of a vintage pair of Levi's from the 1920's he got a hold of back in april and will also rock a completely new denim.

For the tour we'll have a size 32 for our disposal. Measurements will hopefully be sorted out.

We're kicking off the tour at TCB's very own factory in Kurashiki where I will pick up the jeans during the last week of july.

The current roster of TCB rockstars:
      Bobbo (Sweden)
      Paul T (UK)
      Red Dragon (Indonesia)
      NYC surfer (USA)
      JaredLee (USA)
      Ooms (Indonesia)
      Foxy (Germany/Russia)
      Ironhorse (Taiwan)
      Articulate (USA)
      Jigsaw (Indonesia)
      Holio Cornolio (UK)
      Mandel9000 (NOR)

      Subs:
      Reverendglasseye
      Louisbosco
      FeloniusMonk

The roster is full for now, although it won't hurt having a few subs!

The original and what we're looking forward to:
