i'm jealous of you guys who live in temperate climate. i can't rock anything thicker than 10oz.

Where do you live?  I live in Florida in the US and we just had a record breaking week with the high being 90 on Monday this week.  I can only hope Winter strikes back as hard as Summer has hit us.

New Challenges !

Domestic Denim

Household chores suck right? Share your monotony with the DWC and revel in not being the only one who has to do the dishes, clear the gutters, mow the lawn or fix that loose tile, at least your jeans are cool !

-          Dog Day Denim

Not only dogs, it could be cats, birds, rabbits, snakes, spiders. If you have a pet, we want to see them, and your jeans, together if possible.

-          Distinctive Denim

Show us a detail, a fade, a crease, a pulled thread, anything which makes your denim unique to you. Show us how your life has altered your denim in a way which only you could have.

Distinctive Denim Challenge (just the motivation I needed to post some fresh photos).

Coin pocket fades are always among my favorite, especially when the outline of the bottom half of the pocket starts to show through. With my Railcars, an odd crease that developed on the inside of the pocket bag between the coin pocket and the outseam has produced the weirdest little fade (and soon-to-be hole) I've ever had. Take a look:

Together with my colleague and friend @enell s pair. It is fun to compare our jeans hands on.

His pair has around 50 more days then my pair.

I built this togther with my wife. But she prefered not to have it home. So now it is placed at work.

I do love the Millenium Falcon.

I love comparing jeans with my friends, I just got down laying down my friend's Momotaro Brown weft's with my Beatle Busters.  It is fun to have a local community.

Bangkok, Thailand. it's usually 28-35 on a bad day, and during summer it could get up to 38 (degree Celsius, i don't know Fahrenheit), but it is really the humidity that's the killer. it makes wearing heavy weight denim feels very much  like a portable sauna.

oh i'd love to see you guys come down under. especially in western australia where in mid jan to feb, temperatures can hit 40-45 degrees celcius or about 113F. sure it doesn't have the humidity of bangkok or singapore (where i used to live), but nothing beats the dry scorching heat.... :D

I've been to Perth twice during Chinese New Year and I could get a sunburn just walking around the corner of the street.

Heavyweight denim would be a real no-go! There's a reason all the workers there dress like the Crocodile Hunter.

oh if you ever come again, hit me up. but yeah, the summer's been getting hotter year on year. it was just 39C on the weekend. summer here is singlets, shorts and barefoot for most people. i do try my best to wear mine. did so in the hwdc2, we'll see this year, but thankfully, i'll be in japan for most parts of the brutal summer month.

And judging by the amount of photos you took of them I'm assuming you left the wife at home!

The girlfriend had work that day; she was unimpressed by my showgirl photos.  :D

For sure; I think Japan would be a smidge better, but humid.

You guys can keep your molten hot sun, I am a pale ghost a person and end up looking like a reptile every time I come home from a beach trip.  You guys have it way worse.

About a month ago i asked some of you guys where you recommend going in Japan, well the trip has come and passed. Here's a mini collection of some of my favourite photos from the trip. The full album will be linked at the end (higher res photos).  Any critics on my photos are welcome, i find myself struggling to not over edit photos/under edit. Hopefully I'm found a happy medium thats not too trendy/vsco-ish.

Robot Restaurant - Probably one of the highest energy shows i've ever seen live. Highly recommend if you are in Shinjuku...i was not expecting a t-rex to walk out from behind the curtain....

Shinjuku - Stayed here for the first two nights of the week. Exciting area, lots of fun things to do. Arcades, batting cages, and good food in hidden places.

Tenryuji Temple - We timed the Fall colours in Kyoto nearly perfectly.

Okochi-Sanso Villa - Walking through the bamboo forest of Kyoto leads to this summer villa home. This was my favourite scenic area of the entire trip. Simply amazing there

Fujiya Hotel - When we left Kyoto we stayed at the Fujiya Hotel in Hakone. Built in the late 1800s this hotel was one of the first built in Japan and was visited by many celebrities/emperors over the years. It reminds me of the Grand Budapest Hotel, it has so much character so heres a few of my favourite photos from there.

Mt. Fuji (Hakone Trip) - The next day after staying at the Fujiya we went on a trip around Hakone using our Hakone Free Pass. Unfortunately there was some volcanic activity wich closed down part of the ropeway...visible in the smoke pouring out below! We did manage to get a few shots of mt Fuji even though it was super cloudy that day (thank for for lightoom dehaze!!!!)

Awesome pics Karanimal! Looks like a really great trip. I am leaving for Japan in 2 weeks and these pictures making me even more excited if that is possible. If I can get a few pictures even half as good as yours I will be a happy man.

some challenge pictures!

Dog day denim challenge

This is Mogwai(in front) and Trotsky(not interested in photos, even with free catnip on offer)

Mogwai is a bit more of a ham!

Distinctive Denim

HWwx191.jpg

The two diagonal fade lines near the bottom of my  inner legs are always the first fades to show up on any pair of denim I get. I must brush my legs together quite a bit when I walk or something!
