Little update!

The weather was quite good yesterday and we finally had time to do this as well, but the the first BBQ of the year happened, woehoeeee! So my Steel Feather's lost their BBQ virginity yesterday. They'll probably smell (and maybe taste, lol) a little bit smokey after that. See some pictures here on their current state after 1 month of wear:

The contest challenges make their return starting on June 1st. The challenge aspect was a very popular part of the second HWDC and really added to the fun of the contest, they are not compulsory but they are great fun for all contestants and observers.

A brief explanation of how the challenges work for those who were not a part of HWDC2.

-          Every 3 months we will list three different challenges to do in your jeans.

-          Pick one challenge and document it in your thread.

-          The boots contest will have only one challenge every three months and will, surprisingly, involve walking.

So without further delay, here are your first denim challenges, these relate to ALL denim categories and they start easy…

1)      Breaking in your denim. Document how you break in your denim, whether that is exercise, walking, gardening, home improvements or something totally different. How do you break in yours?

2)      Denim in the hood. Take us for a walk around your neighbourhood and show us your favourite parts, or parts of interest.

3)      Discovering denim. Provide between 5 and 10 detail shots of your denim, include any cool details and a macro or close up of the fabric.

Not too much going on after about  1.5 months in. I actually had to wash and scrub these guys real good after 2 weeks because i got soaked in algae and lake water....

First Month Update

The jeans now have 31 wears/1 month. They are now noticeably softer, but still quite rigid. The hairiness has subsided in areas of high friction, and the dye in those area starts to give way to brighter blue shades. Already around waist band one can see how this denim would fade. I presume that with few washes, or even more than a few, these will develop a very high contrast fade.

There's more picture on DWC forum or in RC thread

I took some macros today of my IH-666UHR. I got a bit carried away.

So get ready for some overload of macros.

I do not own a tripod. I really need to get one. Would have made this easier.

What is up guys, I've got my June 2015 update along with my challenge # 3 up on my threads in the DWC forum.

I'll leave a couple up here though.

Keep the updates coming! This is a pretty cool experience and one month in we're already seeing some solid fades.
