Inspired by the leg shape used in the late 1950's and early 1960's, these regular fit jeans are more relaxed with a higher rise and a 17" hem (for 32" waist) that include the following features :
- 14.25 oz Japanese red selvage denim, woven on Toyoda looms and pre-shrunk.

Did buy the last available pair of their 2016 collaboration with Dry British - DD11 in their un-sanforized denim - here are the post-soak pictures:

fixed - still linking pics out of my PhotoBucket account - expecting them to block these links any minute.

seems like they are experiencing/have experienced a mass exodus and continue to re-work the recent account pay schemes...

I like the look of Dawson and have my eye on the wide versions (i.e. DD03, DD05 and DD010) though haven't worked out yet if they are Japanese denim or denim woven on Japanese looms.

It is all japanese denim according to this page: https://www.dawsondenim.com/pages/how-we-make

I sent my Dawson Regular jeans off to Railcar for a taper. The top half of this fit has always been really nice but the lower leg is a bit too wide. I think these should fit really good so I'll expect they'll start to get a lot of wear after basically sitting in my closet for the past three years :P

Here’s my USN shawl neck or deck jumper.

The denim is really nice and crisp at first, then it softens up and becomes even better. Amazing fabric. The little details like the kasuri lined pockets and the fact that it’s all made by hand on old Union machines makes this quite special.

I’m also eyeing up their wabash jacket and the new tapered fit. If anyone has pics of those, I’d love to see them.

Nice pix! I really like Dawson now that they're introducing more nautical items, feels truer to their place of origin somehow.

Finally did it!

Ordered my first pair of Dawson today.

I decided to get the Wide Taper fit, was stuck between choosing that or the regular Wide fit, but went for the Wide Taper mostly because I havent really seen anybody wearing that one yet.

Very excited to get these in my hands over the next few weeks

Little bump for the Dawson thread because I was just notified that my jeans have shipped!

Hopefully they are in my hands next week.

Ive been without ANY jeans (except my TCB Seamans trousers which I suppose are technically denim) since I sent back my 20s contest pair which I think was over a month ago, so this delivery is even more exciting than usual

Today was the day! Just got them in hand.

Going to come back later and post a more details of my thoughts and a fit picture, but I figured Id dump in my initial photos and a quick first impression in the meantime!

First and foremost, Id like to mention that Kelly and Scott have been the absolute most kind and courteous people that Ive ever tried to do business with me. They were so sweet and helpful during the ordering process, they messaged me twice during the waiting period just to check in on me, and they had a lovely chat with me today when I got in touch with them to let them know that they arrived. I would do business with them all day, everyday, and many times in the future.

The packaging was beautiful. All of the "paperwork" looked very nice and well assembled. All of the cardboard inserts and information cards seemed to reflect their quality of work as it was all very sturdy and beautiful to look at. I was especially fond of the little tote bag that the jeans came in.

Upon my first couple of examinations of the jeans themselves, they seem to be by FAR some of the best constructed pants that I have ever owned (although I have not handled Roy or Ooe). Everything is so nice and tidy. The workman ship is topnotch. Something about them seems "special" from the new pocket design to the hand signed and numbered tags. The denim is very very stiff so far, it is 14.5oz but it honestly feels much heavier than that right now. The fabric looks beautiful, although the color may be a little bit off in this round of photos

I am so excited to get started!

Had my first day of wear today! For me, the fit is exactly what I wanted! (Although Ive gotten deep back into working out and eating well lately and just lost 14 lbs so Ive got a liiittle bit of extra waist room)(but not enough to bother me, just enough to have extra shirt tucking in room and require a belt). Not exactly sure how I’ll utilize the cuff on these, but Im pretty happy with how it was in these photos

Although I did wear them all day today, I am going to go ahead and toss them in a light wash this evening. Partly out of the habit of washing jeans on the first day, partly because they feel quite stiff and startchy

they suit you really well, although a hem wouldn't hurt tbh.

I reaaaally thought I had chose the proper hem length when I ordered them.. but I am also thinking I may have messed that up somehow. I thought I calculated it so I could have a single 3” cuff ... but.. hrm
