Botany Dave 15 Posted November 20, 2015 I ran across this original, lined Type II Jacket at a garage sale about 20 years ago. I've worn it a coupe of dozen times since. I didn't know what I had until last week. Can anyone recommend a way to determine its value? I've seen similar for sale, but I'm sure condition matters...

goodrain 860 Posted December 12, 2015 shameless plug: I'm selling the newly released Red Cloud denim jacket and the TCB Type II in case anyone is interested my search for the perfect denim jacket continues. I am considering the Mister Freedom Ranch Blouse or the Trophy Dirt Denim Jacket
aho 675,972 Posted December 12, 2015 ^May I ask what you didn't like about them? I've found my perfect denim jacket in the Fullcount Type 1 for what it's worth.
goodrain 860 Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) the red cloud was just a little too narrow in the shoulders: 16 inches for a 41 inch chest(I would have preferred 17-18inches) the TCB had the right shoulder width but the chest was a little too narrow. the next size up would have been too big and sloppy for both jackets. bradl 927 Posted December 12, 2015 Not sure if you'd be able to find it, but the 2001 from warehouse is brilliant, nice modernized "type II"
BrownMetallic 600,533 Posted December 12, 2015 ^^ @Goodrain__ sorry for the misfire Intended to posrep for the RC sizing cuz I was considering it. I'd prolly just go for the TCB chore instead.
clt3 78 Posted December 12, 2015 ^^How's the fit on the 2001? What would you call modern?
bradl 927 Posted December 12, 2015 Quite a bit slimmer through the chest, and a cinch on back.
unders 1,648 Posted December 12, 2015 Have to say Goodrain, I've never seen anyone look bad in a Ranch Blouse. If the measurements look like they'd work may be worth going for it.
itsbenhere 2,697 Posted December 12, 2015 Goodrain just note, the buttons are on the inside of the sleeve for the ranch blouse. I was looking into it a few years ago as well and when I tried it on, I didn't realize it would bother me so much. It just feels weird, to me at least. Another one of those things that can screw you, never thought about inside button placement, or even knew that the ranch blouse had that...
davito 182 Posted December 12, 2015 hi goodrain this is my size 36 lot 64, one soak, excuse the dark pix
Bobbo 6,648 Posted December 12, 2015 ^^ Aye, Levi's 506 also has the buttons placed on the inside. Felt weird the first couple of weeks but I don't ever think about it now.
goodrain 860 Posted December 12, 2015 Thanks, guys! Since I live in Los Angeles I'll go try on the Ranch Blouse at the MF store
mondo 999 Posted December 17, 2015 Anybody who has ever had to spend $5,000 on a table will appreciate having buttons on the inside of a cuff.. more designers should do this!
itsbenhere 2,697 Posted December 17, 2015 Sorry, you're saying that because the buttons won't scratch? I just mean that on the ranch blouse the buttons are on a different part of the wrists (insides rather than the outsides). The buttons can still scratch just as easily... And it feels super weird too, to me at least.
chicote 2,818 Posted December 17, 2015 But if your hands are on the table, and the buttons are on the outside of the cuff, generally the buttons would be rubbing against the wood, yeah? I can't imagine how that would happen when the buttons are on the inside of your wrists..
itsbenhere 2,697 Posted December 17, 2015 I definitely can't be sure since I didn't pay much attention after I realized that orientation felt uncomfortable. I guess if you guys are frequently in contact with 5k tables, then it's a nice feature... lol
mondo 999 Posted December 17, 2015 well hey, I wouldn't know, never having experienced the ranch blouse.. it just sounded like a well thought-out detail; the scratches on my expensive-arse furniture come from many sources (here's lookin' at you, kids)
UkeNo 102,869 Posted December 17, 2015 It's twice as annoying on a $10,000 table though Anybody who has ever had to spend $5,000 on a table will appreciate having buttons on the inside of a cuff.. more designers should do this!
swiss-jeansfreak 296,412 Posted December 18, 2015 One thing I find interesting is the tightness in combs from my left to right arm, not sure why it's like that tbh One thing I find interesting is the tightness in combs from my left to right arm, not sure why it's like that tbh Love this jacket a lot!!!!!
