Regarding international shipping to the US and customs, how do you guys declare the value of the package and do you declare it as a gift or other?

Not that i'd ever do anything as potentially fraudulent as that, but if someone was so inclined, they would tick the gift box on the shipping label, declaring a value of around $30 and marking the item as clothing. Obviously that runs the risk of not having the item insured for it's value should anything go awry so one would always send the package tracked as well.

The US limit is very high ($800) so anything under will not be assessed duty or taxes. So as long as the package is under $800, i would be honest, there's no downside and it allow you to properly insure the package.

Honestly the 2 times I've ever shipped ACR internationally / at all I said that shit was a $10 T-shirt LOL it got there fine and buyer was gucci. Although I don't' recommend this

Underdeclaring value really does nothing for you as the seller. You'd have no recourse if the package was lost and the buyer decided to charge back through their credit card or paypal or what have you.

If they can pay $1000+ for a luxury good, they can shell out extra for customs fees.

Yeah word he was a nice dude and I was shipping it with next day air via my buddies free corporate shipping account so I knew it would get there safely, just wanted to save the buyer some bread is all really.

there are two prices...value declared and real value. if the package gets lost you are getting what it was insured for, not what you wrote on the bill for greedy customs. on the otherhand 800usd is pretty sweet, EU duty-free limit basically made me buy only in EU:/ and ppl/shops not willing to ship internationally does not help either.
