Thought I should do a update even though I haven't barley used them at all past month, need to repair this pocket that just gets bigger and bigger for every wear. But here's some more detailed pics anyway.

Hi guys!

So, there´s a little story to be told here: I promised myself that I would not wash my IH 634S until the day before my wedding, so that I can get married in clean jeans. Since the big day is going to be tomorrow, today, after what has been almost 15 months of daily wear and tear, I put them in the machine. Right now they´re outside drying… But here are the last pics before the wash:

Unfortunately, the lighting doesn´t give them nearly enough credit – they´re more faded than it seems on most of the pics.

Since I don´t think that I´ll have time today to take any postwash-pics once they´re dried, I´ll see to it that I will post them during the weekend – as well as some pics of my wedding… :D

Stay tuned!

So do I get it correctly that these are your wedding jeans? You are actually the first one I ever heard of that marries in worn out jeans. You make all the denim heads here look like Chinofans ;-) #bow

Hope you give us an update on how they turned out post-wash, post-wedding

x-post from main thread

About two weeks ago I went to Berlin with a couple of friends. We went do drink beer, and beers we drank. We brought the Phantom with us as a mascot. He got completely violated, poor thing.

Welcome to the show of 7 degenerates and the Phantom:

A warm up before we went to see Germany-France at Branderburger Tor

There were quite alot of people there. I think we were watching the 3-4 screen and had at least one more behind us.

I don't know if this goes for my challenge entry? Didn't really dress up to cheer for Germany but damn did we want them to win. Couldn't have a gloomy atmosphere in the city while we were there could we now.

We got this ugly ass strawhat from some german dude the night before. Also, the apartment didn't have a balcony which meant smoking was done out of these windows that you barely could open up.

Here's my monthly update and challenge, it's been really hot lately in Sweden so I haven't been wearing my jeans much the past month.

Hi guys… In Germany, it´s 5 minutes to 12 right now, and I´m trying to shoot out these music-related pics for the challenge before the time runs out…  :D

So, as some of you might know (but most probably do not), I play in a band. I was hoping to have some pictures of a gig, but we didn´t have any, so there were no pics. So instead, I decided to show you our little rehearsing-room. Here goes:

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2053%2015.jpg

So, this is the lounge… I know, it´s not REALLY clean, but it is quiet, and we can keep to ourselves… the room is in a building that used to be a bank, and we were lucky to get hold of the vault to set up our gear in. Over time we built a little bar in the lounge (that blueish-lit thing in the back), and in between songs we sit and talk about band-related stuff.

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2053%2032.jpg

Look at that: when I said vault, I MEANT vault! Check out these heavy doors!  :D

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2054%2051.jpg

Some of our gear…

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2055%2046.jpg

This is where I sit most of the time… I do percussion and sing the lead vocals, but I can also pitch in for the drummer if need be.

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2055%2049.jpg

Now and then I also play the piano. Not that great though, unfortunately...

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2057%2004.jpg

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2057%2027.jpg

I do play the guitar as well, but that´s our guitarists stuff, to be honest.  Anyway, I thought this small part of his collection (no understatement!) was impressive enough to be shared here.

Photo%2004.08.14%2014%2057%2035.jpg

That´s it for today… I´ll post some pics of the next gig, if I have the chance. I´ll be visiting a festival on the weekend, so there should be pics of the jeans (and more music-related stuff too) in the near future. Meanwhile, I hope you liked the ones I posted here.

latest Update:

01.jpg

02.jpg

03.jpg

Next pic: I keep a small case with mints in my coinpocket at all times… well.

04.jpg

Next pic: I repaired a hole in the left pocket by sewing a patch of leftover denim on it, before it could tear even more. It´s not pretty, but I kinda like it ;) Also on this picture: I had to stop the pocket from tearing even further (and destroying the front before due time), so I asked a tailor to repair it for me.

05.jpg

This is what it looks like on the other side:

06.jpg

Next pic: this is the left knee… I´m still not sure whether I should repair it or not.

07.jpg

Backpockets are in acceptable shape.

08.jpg

I don´t really know how this tear on the left leg happened. Hm.

09.jpg

All in all, I think they´re in great shape :)

HC-SF-103 Samurai S5000vx 15oz 15th Anniversary

One year update and challenge pics.

The jeans have been washed 4 times after the first 2 initial soaks. They were washed at 6, 7, 8.5 and 10.5 months. Washed because they were dirty or needed tightening up. Each time they were washed in 60 deg C and a full 2h program in the machine with normal “sensitive†washing detergent for colored clothes.  After each wash, when wet, I stretched the inseam and waist.

The cuffs, crotch and front pockets were repaired after 8.5 months by Unionville in Stockholm.

X-Post:

Since I got some pretty ugly tears on the knees of my jeans and the current challenge is to repair your denim, I thought I´d give it a try and fix them myself. As it turns out, this was one of the worst ideas I´ve ever had… But see for yourself:X-Post:

01.JPG

^ So this is the bigger one of the holes. I figured I´d start fixing this one, just because it´s the oldest and it bugged me the most.

02.JPG

^ This is my wife´s sewing machine. I haven´t used one of those in over a decade, but I thought "how hard can it be – I´ll just wing it!"…

03.JPG

^ Had some leftover 21oz denim from having my Sammies hemmed (remember last HWDC anyone?). My idea was to sew a patch on the inside of the torn area.

04.JPG

^ ready, set, go!

05.JPG

^ at this stage I was quite surprised that things seemed to go pretty great! Although I was aware that the sewing machine was probably not the right size for the job, somehow I managed to reach the torn area and sew away. Little did I know…

06.JPG

^ and here´s the result: it actually didn´t go all THAT bad, apart from the fact that only after I was finished I saw that the denim had crumbled under the needle, and the area was what seemed like a big bulk of denim and thread. Obviosly I couldn´t just leave it like that, and so I removed the threads again, which took me more than half an hour. To make things worse, although I was REALLY careful, I only tore the denim even more:

07.JPG

So tomorrow, I´ll take my Iron Hearts to a local tailor and have them fixed professionally. Some smaller tears I´ll repair by hand, but I don´t think I´m touching that sewing machine again – at least not in combination with my jeans! :P
