do you work in the industry, theetruscan? :o

they have ready-made 'reproofing' liquid (aka dressing) for denim/leather... brands like barbour, etc.

maybe i should just try that

i'd like to try a more 'user-friendly' process than what familyman's done XD or beginner-friendly

rather like the idea of using water-based solutions than oil-based for easy cleaning

the linseed and turpentine is just to thin out the mixture, it also makes it dry slower.

I've been coating several things with different mixtures trying to get it down right before I coat what I actually wanted to coat.

I will post pics of this once I finish everything.

How about Paraffin Wax? From my understanding its what Barbour recommends to reproof their jackets, but do they use it to impregnate their cottons in the first place, or do they use something else?

Is there a big difference between bees and paraffin wax?

Revsta - nice bump, this one was nearly lost in the ether.

I'd assume that the best time to treat the denim would be pre cut/sew, though I wonder if it would be beneficial to treat the threads pre or post dye or after they've been woven into denim?

Waterproof or resistant denim would be pretty kick ass!
