I assume you've played around with the lacing? I noticed that the tongue on my right boot doesn't fold in the same way as my left, so I make sure to adjust it before i tie the laces.

HWB-45.  Boots arrived.  Pictures in the appropriate place.

Here's a hint, though, to get you all to go and find the 3 full-length shots:

I went with the lug sole because a) I didn't want to have to worry about resoling for a loooonnnngggg time, and B) they attach with screws and could not be any more heavy duty than that.

Leathers are nat CXL for the upper and "Harvest Roughout" for the toe and heel.  Track down my post from the 4th.  All the details and hardcore boot porn are there.

It's a profound feeling, putting your foot into a boot that is 100% the correct size.  Like its not even there.

I've treated the entire boot with a thin coat of RW LP, and a small amount(and I mean small) of kiwi neutral polish. I've brushed them every time they've come off, and that's it. The toe caps were a bit darker than the rest of the boots when new, and they've darkened quite a bit. Anything I've done has been to the whole boot. I spilled a few drops of gun oil on the left toe, but it's hardly noticeable. I don't know what to make of it....I like it, but I really have no clue why they are so much darker.

Well, first week in these is done. So far I've worn them every day, including 20 hours on day two. They've suffered through my daily walks to and from work (30 minutes each day), a show at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern, an epic collapse by my favourite hockey team, rain, a coat of dubbin, a bunch of beer and more to come...

Surprisingly, they've barely started to crease and for some reason have started to rub on my left ankle.

I didn't even consider making my own boots...I could have saved myself some money!

I'm just kidding, those look very nice, and I agree, you can see traits of several different brands in their design.

I'm curious what don't you like about the sole combination? Is it just an aesthetic thing, or how they feel?
