DenimProject - The Deviants 2013 Contest

came home from work to mine today.

picked a W32 and L32 (but hemmed to 29.5")

measurements BIG style as follows:

waist: 16.25 inches

front rise: 12.25 inches

back rise: 16 inches

upper thigh: 12.75 inches

knee: 10.0 inches

hem: 9.0 inches

inseam: 30.0 inches

no pre-soak fits but my impressions are:

  • sizing is pretty much what i expected, not too loose or tight although i won't be taking too many risks with the waist. chart has been pretty accurate so far for me
  • denim is very dark and has slight irregularities in the weave which i like
  • construction is great and very clean on these with hardly any errors
  • raised belt loops
  • arcs are very flat
  • double red "devis" tab on the left of each pocket
  • green-cast stamping is definitely a nice touch

will try to get some pictures when i can.

big thanks to taichi-san, drapygo and aho for this. looking forward to wearing them.

on the basis of the one wash measurements given by tpun, I thinks he might feel the cut is wider or more loose than expected.

the measurements on the size chart said wasit and hem should be 76cm and 21cm after one wash and the measurements given by tpun which are 80cm and 22cm.

so he said he should be size 30 on it.

yes!! that's exactly wt i want to say

^^^ so tpun you went for a 32 but think now that you should have got a 30?

I noticed in the charts that the one wash measurement include a tumble dry, I should think if you do a proper wash and dry you will get more shrink than just a hot soak.

^Capsicum,

i had thought w30, my first order is w30, and then i really afraid that the waist maybe too tight if it waist is 72, for safety, i changed to w32...

but now the w32 hot soak is not my expertation.

now the waist is as following, i think it should really have a porper wash..., at last i will sell it or give it to my father :)

leg opening :

for hemming, i should hem for 9.5 inch, and after that, the leg opening will be like this

@tpun_ i agree w/every1.  either,  do a hot machine wash&dry or wear a belt for now until you need to wash.

don't be too impatient,  yours havent reached absolute shrinkage just yet ... & careful in  soaking too hot,  you will ruin the patch.  if you're too concerned about the leg opening, then [this] is not your cut.

Got mine, thnx!  very nice fabric.. soaking now.

Bought my regular size. (34)

The waist is tight, but i could button up pretty easy presoak.. so it should work.. i hope so! :P

Tpun, i fully agree with brownmetallic.

A boiling soak will probably ruin the patch, better would it to give them a machine wash at either 40 or 60 degrees Celcius.

I always get the most shrinkage out of a machine wash, much more than with just soaking.

You can also let them have a spin in the dryer afterwards, just a short 10 min one.

Just some shrink info, hottest tap water for 70-80 min -> "drying cabinet"  90 min

PRE / POST 34W:

Waist    86.5 / 82.5 (stretched by hand to 86.5 again)

Inseam 88.5 / 84.5

FR       31.5 / 30

BR       41.5 / 40.5

Thigh   34 / 32

Knee   27 / 25.5

Think these really need a wash before wear.. inseam didn't shrink enough.

Phew here we go, pretty safe to say these have shrunk 99%.. & waist stretch to presoak np.

(70 degree C wash -> 60 min drying cabinet -> 30 min dryer)

34w Cm / Inch

Waist: 82 / 32.3            (stretched to 87cm/34.3inch by hand)

Inseam 81.5 / 32.1       (shrunk alot more with real wash + dryer, perfect!)

FR: 30 / 11.8

BR 39.5 / 15.6

Thigh: 32  / 12.6

Knee: 25  / 9.8

Hem 23 / 9.1
