i fucked up my knee this summer because canice forced me to bike drunk...

that said i dont have much use for my 2006 61cm FUJI TRACK BIKE.

Ive only rode this bike 5-6 times and it has a flip-flop hub if you want to go freewheel with it.

i paid just over 700CAN for this thing, i will let it go for 500CAN, great bike, my knee should be better but the summer, but id rather have some cash.

uh that's a bit revisionist, isn't it? as i remember you threw a bitch fit until i had unlocked my bike for you to ride. and then you crashed it when you bombed down a hill. i should know, since I WAS SOBER.

anyway to keep this on topic, this weekend i went to the bike show in toronto and i stared at a $3000 cinelli xperience for 20 minutes straight.

Thats too fly... All youd need is a basket and a chrome bell and cruise around a suburban community... I aspire to buy another bike, get dressed and do that sometime during the holidays...

Awesome.

i never understood why people be riding fixed gears or track bikes man. especially in san francisco. i guess they want to get buff asss legs. lol. man what ever. its their bikes.

HAHA... Its a better work out... I have yet to ride in SF. But you really need to be changing up gears while cutting in between cars...

Im planning on riding in downtown San Jose this week... So if you see a noob, on a Pista, its prolly me...

i enjoy riding thru the city at rush hour with no brakes, no pedal clips, no helmet, and my ipod on full blast...

For a nice bit of bike porn, see the site below. Dial-up warning -- it's huge.

  • 2 weeks later...

My Tom Ritchey, custom bespoke frame #33, was recently stolen from my Bangkok apartment. I am really, really bummed. It simply cannot be replaced. sigh.

If this is turning into a bragging post, here's my baby:

Late 80's/early 90's Colnago Victory with a hodgepodge of Record and Dura Ace/105 parts. The cranks were recently replaced with Dura Ace cranks and I put a really bad hop in the rear wheel, so I'm riding it hoopdified until I can afford a pair of red Velocities. Unfortunately they don't make the red Open Pros anymore.

Cosign on getting a used bike, if you're patient you can find deals. I got this (granted this was 8 years ago) on Ebay with different Campy parts for $500 and it came with an extra wheelset.

these days you're not going to find a full campy colnago for anywhere near $500. :(

my dream frame (this winter, i'm building one that will have a custom paint job just like this):

and my bike - recently flipped the stem and de-branded the whole thing so it's considerably less jumbled looking:

bump this shit up again...just got some new soma bullhorn bars for my fixie...go to sleep now, wake up around 4 or 5pm, go ride dowtown before work.!!

Nice. Wat kind? pics?

Ima pick up a Nitto stem and bullhorn bars sometime this month.

Gonna paint my frame a flat black later on this week.

My bike buddies keep telling me that I need cages... Not sure if I wanna get any, I can do a few things pretty easily without cages.

I know nothing about bikes. Can someone please explain to me the advantage to having a road bike in a city? I ride a mountain bike to work every day and it serves me fine. I like being able to ride off curbs and cross train tracks and shit. Can you do that stuff with a road bike? What makes a road bike intrinsically better for getting around?

the seat looks kinda low..

ive pretty much resigned myself to not having a SS for the winter..

im just gonna spend time replacing most of the stuff on my fatboy and save up for another langster..

i'm short - 5'5" on a 52. i also redialed the fit recently (which is why i flipped the stem) and plan on getting shorter cranks. i might buy some syntace bullhorns off my friend too. anyone want some cinelli road bars?

don't buy a langster. you know what they say, crack and fail...

i ride bmx and road bikes,.. bmx are very fun but are a bit tough for longer commutes. i ride 1.5 miles each way to work and get there damn fast. as far as jumping off of stuff and potholes and stuff, you eventually get used to lifting the front wheel over nasty stuff in the road you cant avoid. if put in a bad situation i can go over a curb and be fine, though i wouldnt ant to do it all the time. i dont really ride on sidewalks at anything but crawling speeds, so that might be rough.

de bernardi's are the worst. had several friends riding the 5130 (red frames) and one on a thron pinch their top tube.

i say go vintage italian or keirin.

my de bernardi rides just fine, no complants... i use to ride a GT, KHS, Bianchi, and a Lemond... IMO, the de bernardi blows out the GT, KHS, and Bianchi...

actually this would be my second langster.. first one stood up pretty well to manhattan streets..i know theres alot of hate for aluminum but steel isnt exactly invulnerable either, but i guess im a glutton for punishment..
