Shoes that look better with age...

Just got a pair of Fracaps in! Thanks again to @sensy and @Elmer.Richard for sharing their pairs & making me aware of the brand

These'll be pretty much exclusively used for hiking, but not until after I've worn them walking around town for at least a few days to be sure they're comfortable & somewhat broken-in

No off-foot photos, yet…maybe once they've seen some actual wear

Nice Fracaps. I like the color and that welt too.

i've had my RW 8138s in 11D for a little over a year now and love them. unfortunately, the right boot is slightly too small in the toebox against my pinky toe after a few hours of wear.

would sizing up to an 11.5D resolve the issue? the EE widths are borderline impossible to source where i'm located (australia) and no one appears to ship them here either. i've also read EE is only wider at the heel of the shoe, and the toebox is essentially the same. is this accurate?

edit: i don't have much experience with boots in general, but i'm typically a US12 in most sneakers.

Sounds like sizing up a half might work better for you

RDT has made their Coupen in black horsehide, and they made a size 12. Very tempting...what do y'all think?

I’ve only good things to say about RDT generally - seems like they are calling your name

They're nice, RDT is great but personally I like the original black iteration better  A question of pure taste though. It's cool that they stock them in a 12.

I really hope they'll restock the natural or burgundy Casper's in sz 10 (and the brown Coupen as well) :ph34r2:

@Ar_thor the thing I prefer about the normal black Coupen is the natural midsole compared to the all black on the horsehide version.
Based on those photos the horsehide has a bit of a tea-core base to it which should be nice with some wear.
Wish I could order them directly instead of through a proxy, might try to ask.

I'm pretty sure you can. They just won't put a lower value to dodge the customs, at least not when I asked.

Good to know! I sent them an email through their contact page this morning. Last time I reached out to them was to ask about ordering size 12, but never heard back. Fingers crossed. No customs issues in the US since it’s under $800.

Nodding to the peeping tea-core... that'll break up the all black very nicely and set it off

@oomslokop mainly because size 12 is hard to come by, hoping Barnstormer stocks these if RDT doesn’t reply the my email. They have the standard black Coupen in 12.

So I heard back from RDT, you can purchase directly from them. However with EMS still not shipping the the US they're shipping via Yamato Transport.
Sounds like they hand over to UPS for international delivery and the price is the same as EMS. I'll likely place the order for these this week.

Sold a few things and made enough scratch for the black horsehide Coupens, placed the order today.
Photos and thoughts to come once they arrive!

And it looks like I got the only size 12 that they made (at least for the time being), so it was meant to be.

Yes sir. I emailed them and they said they'll ship via Yamato Post to the US (should handover to UPS I think).
PayPal checkout was easy but in Japanese, so just used a translation app.

I love my RDTs, but I have to admit some disappointment in how the stitching on the vamps began to come loose pretty quickly.  They have held together, and I don't wear them all that often, but still an unexpected breakdown.

@tod that's disappointing, I'd be interested to see some photos.

Another week of beatings. They got in a fight with rebar this week as well.
