dude..what'd be the cheapest way to buy cartier tank solo....

yeah it's cheaper than most of you'd consider buying,,,but I wanna save as much money as possible you know...

Should I just walk into local AD and offer to pay cash? avoiding tax and what not?

Loving that IWC posted on the previous page.

I'm getting a Carrera Tachymeter. Tag is releasing an updated version of this watch in a couple of months and it will be 43mm instead of 41mm. That's a big selling point for me, but unfortunately the new watch is a LOT more busy. I'm not sure what to do. I love the current model, but 41mm is almost too small for me.

the cheapest way would be to get a used one on tz or something. most of the places in the city won't do the cash discount thing, except for chinatown.

and that new tach is horrible. the dial is a trainwreck. not that the current one is great, but it's better. i've had bad experiences with tag in general, and their customer service sucks. plus, my dad just got a limited ed of the carrera tach and the chrono is all fucked up. they're quality isn't up to par with the companies they pretend to compete against.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Tachymeter (in terms of quality). I know Tag is hated on by watch connoisseurs, but it's a solid watch. I was playing poker the other night at the casino and there was a Breitling Navitimer, Breitling Bentley 6.75, and a Tachymeter at the table and honestly the Tach stole the show. It has great wrist presence without being overly tacky.

You're better off buying a better made seiko at 1/10th the price

Navitimer tacky? I can understand the 6.75 being dubbed tacky, but certainly not the Navitimer. And I'm not sure how anyone can call the current Tachymeter tacky. And the simple fact that you're suggesting that I spend my money on a QUARTZ Seiko over an AUTOMATIC Tag tells me you don't know fuck all about watches.

The fact that you don't know shit about Seikos tells everyone in this post you don't know shit about about watches. Enjoy your piece of shit Tag AKA the Coach bags for men.

I'm new to this forum and an avid watch lover. As such, if it hasn't been recommended enough, I am under the firm belief that a stainless steel or two tone Rolex is by far the most versatile and rugged watch for everyday use and wear.

In the meantime, I look forward to reading through this watch thread. I've owned close to 150 watches in the past two years from all different brands (mostly middle-upper class, the lowest being a Tag Heuer..which honestly has lesser quality than an entry level Seiko or Citizen), so I look forward to answering questions and contributing.

I know enough to know that I'd rather have an AUTOMATIC Tag Heuer than a QUARTZ Seiko.

^ welcome to superfuture.

that victorinox looks like a decent watch, i just don't like the display backs on ETA2824s----solid caseback will do just fine for a utilitarian field watch with a pedestrian automatic movement

i happen to like having the movement exposed and it's definitely a decent watch. it does it's job and has a nice clean look.

Sweet. This watch is almost as expensive as the Carrera that I posted. Find me a $200 automatic Seiko and I will keep my mouth shout. Until then, you guys are complete fuck-tards.
