bonus season plus turning 30 next month = time to get a new watch. i'm thinking about a daytona but i'd really want a vintage panda, not a modern one, so i'm kind of waivering and could use some suggestions for alternatives around 10k. what do you think? thanks!

Picked up an Invicta 8926C (Sub homage, automatic, coin-edge) for 65$ shipped on world of watches dot com. On another note, weirdest thing happened: my grandfathers old Bulova automatic stopped working, so I unscrewed the back off and found the rotor was lose as well as other pieces. I took them out and bagged them with the intention to get it fixed. I opened the box I put it in an hour later and the thing is ticking... Is this bad? I may have wound the spring manually accidentally? It's still ticking 5 hours later...

i just got something similar, a seiko 7002 diver. there's a bunch of reconditioned vintage seiko divers floating around ebay for 50-60 bucks. the face is much bigger than my rolex. pretty handsome watch and hefty too. i have a zulu strap on order that i am going to replace the band with.

Would you guys ever wear these?

its doubtful Burberry will get much love in watch-snob circles because the price you're paying isnt reflected in its technology (i.e. overpaying for name, quartz movement) but by this same token, this can be said about any name brand watch (including rolex IWC panerai where after a certain point, youre paying for the name)

with that being said, if you like whats on your wrist, then thats all that matters. When i posted about burberry watches, i was advised to steer clear and look at brands like Tissot. When i checked out th tissot's they were way to small for my wrist. Getting other peoples opinions on something as personal as watches is kind of a crap-shoot. How do you know their aesthetic is the same as yours?

I accepted that burberry has quartz movement and are made by fossil, but theyre made in swiss and are solidly built (as are most of fossils lines) and ultimately, it matches the aesthetic im looking for and looks good on me.

kiya and dabestspoona may not wear/like a burberry watch, but conversely, i wouldnt wear 30 year old blue-faced rolex, so to each their own.

edit: need one of those maratac pilots. Looks like a good daily
