^ Thanks x2. I don't even necessarily need the chrono, but that Sinn + the Seiko I have are pretty similar in terms of black dial, number markers etc. Just wanted to narrow it down a bit versus asked for 'murdered out automatic'

Thinking of copping the Seiko SNDA57P1, seems to fit the bill of being a military styled, robust unit that is relatively inexpensive

^The classic Seiko SNK809 series is always a solid choice. 37mm I believe.

I like vintage VCs (esp when there's the ampersand) but this looks way too small / feminine for your manly wrist / hand IMHO...

I bet it looks much better in person when worn; vintage watches like that often look like straight-across bracelets, and that still looks like it would have a substantial look and heft to it.

Style of dress would affect it too, closely tailored clothes would look a lot better.

I've tried one on a time or two and really like the round case and raised crystal. But wondered if you had issues or something that led you to slang it.

Two reasons. It felt too small on my wrist and I got it at a ridiculous price, so i bought it with the intention to wear it a couple of times, then flip it for a profit, (which I did).

I have that watch on a gray Nato strap.

For the price, there isn't much I can complain about.

I definitely recommend swapping the original strap for a Nato.

I quite like my SNN233P, I have put it on a black zulu though.

I use my Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red more often though.

Thanks for the suggestions. The nighthawk looks a bit too "busy" for my taste and the seiko is too expensive at 450. Any more matte black watches?

Thanks but the selection for Orient USA is limited compared to the Japan's. I guess finding the basic simple matte black watch for <200 is harder than I thought.
