That IWC is dope as fuck. You don't need to pay retail, all jewelry stores (at least ones in/near NYC) give you discounts if you ask. Just don't go into 6 months of credit card debt for a watch, shit is just dumb.

in regards to the IWC, it retails for a bit over 7k USD in HK and the max discount they give is 10%. brigns to around 6.5k from memory

That IWC 3714 can be found in both colors for about 450,000Y'ish in japon

that would be sweet. it's priced at around 9.5k in AUD, so if i can get it for 450,000 yen in japan, the trip would pay for itself.

is 9.5k the ticket price in aust? watch sellers are known to go down a lot during negotiation here. I think you could get for 7k.

I'm not sure of the warranties JackRoad deals in when selling new, but they do sell genuine watches. They change prices all the time but they tend to be within the same ballpark, 3714 with the gold markers/black band is 478,000Y, 3714-17, which is the one I like with blue markers and navy band, is 510,000Y, 3714 with the black face is 450,000Y:

Theres a really nice 2nd hand shop inside the giant Muji just outside of Yuracho Station. Their IWCs were priced according to near mintness.

between the 3 I'd go with the speedmaster.

A sub would be 3X the cost of the speedmaster. And if it were me, I go with the GMT...

If i were to get any three of those watches, i'd get the speedmaster because i have been suckered by their excellent marketing:

- first and only watch on the moon

- nasa certified for X amount of missions

- accurate for an old watch

I agree though that you should get the liquid metal version, or the sapphire sandwich (sapphire crystal on both sides ofthe watch, as opposed to a hesalite crystal and closed caseback on the original)

the speedmaster is the best of the three, but it's like winning the special olymics. get a used sub for the same cash.

I have a Omega Planet Ocean 42 (with the orange bezel and black face). I prefer this watch over the Seamaster. I get compliments on the watch all the time. Rolex are great and classic but wish they would make a watch larger than a 42. I personally wish I had gone with the 45 Planet Ocean.
