Over the weekend and the coming week we will be launching shirts, jeans, and jackets across many brands including The Flat Head, Pure Blue Japan, and from the latest brand to join us Mister Freedom. Stay tuned.

No better place to start than with Iron Heart and the 555-01 jean. This is made from the signature 21 oz denim. For anyone unfamiliar with it is has been sanforized in such a way that it is ultra soft, whilst ultra tough, and in this fit is ultra slim. It's when you wear such a slim jean in this denim that you appreciate just how breathable and comfortable it is. The denim has an alluring sheen from the go.

A wholly diffrent jean to the 555 in terms of weight and fit is the Hiut Work@ regular fit in 14 oz. Kuroki selvedge. This is a more relaxed, straight fit compared with the Slim Hack@.

These jeans are made in Wales, UK and for those interested David Heiatt who founded the brand 2 years ago, had a mission to tap into the skill base in his small coastal town of Cardigan. Back in the 80s and early 90s there were 400 jobs making jeans before companies outsourced to cheaper countries.

A new generation of young Welsh people is learning the skill of making jeans. His mission "to get this town making jeans again" is gathering pace to the point that they work flat out to meet the growing demand. My slim selvedge jeans have been worn for about 13 months and are a personal favourite. They are very well made. Rolls of Japanese selvedge denim being delivered to this sleepy coastal town does put a smile on my face.

Our latest arrivals from Pure Blue Japan reveal just the extent to which they have mastered the production of complex indigo dyeing with the most intricate and sublime fabrics.

PBJ 6 oz. Stainless Steel Work Shirt

I first saw this shirt in Tokyo last May. When the details were explained to me I thought we were lost in translation. It was not the case. The 6 oz. stainless steel and denim work shirt is made by twisting cotton fibres around a central filament of stainless steel to create a weft thread with a rope dyed warp. PBJ believe them to be the first to weave a selvedge fabric on shuttle looms in this way. This shirt will mould to your body shape like no other due to its unique construction.

PBJ Deep Indigo Western Shirt

The double indigo western shirt again uses the same principle as the denim jacket but this time in a lighter 6 oz. weight. It has a smooth and even handle but like anything Pure Blue Japan produce will fade out beautifully over time.

PBJ Coated Indigo Herringbone Denim Jacket

The indigo warp and white weft of the pattern have been coated in indigo. This will fade out with wear. The jacket is based on a Type ll with the central pleats and pocket placement.

PBJ Deep Indigo Denim Jacket

This jacket uses indigo-dyed warp and weft threads just like the X012 jeans.
The denim is 13 oz. without the slubbiness and rough texture the jeans have. This jacket will look pretty amazing after some good hard wear. Check out the hues of indigo already popping through.

Wow, that's a serious shipment from PBJ! Does the stainless steel shirt have a different feel to it?

It has a crimpled texture which may be due to the stainless steel filament in the weft core. PBJ assures its customers that it is not "prickly" It is very soft to wear like any other cotton shirt. How it moulds to body shape with wear will be interesting to see.

The Flat Head has developed  a light weight material that has the appearance of their ever popular winter flannels. The boys from Nagano lead the way in the development of stunning new fabrics.

Production of this new Border Check fabric was limited. We would have liked to stock more of these shirts and have limited numbers. In the short sleeve blue shirt we have sizes 38 to 42 but they run up to size 46 in the long sleeve configuration in both blue and green.

Hi Danny, hope all is going well with shop fitting.

Do you have an eta for opening? I keep finding excuses to postpone my next London trip but I think the truth is I'm waiting for your shop as it's right round the corner from my London gaff...

Can't put it off much longer!

Looking to try some railcar, hiut and pure blue japan. Particularly keen on the pbj polo too.

We are hoping to open on April 17th next week That is not yet official. The fire alarm has to be commissioned and certificated first.

If you're around Tuesday and Wednesday next week pm me and you can pop in by appointment whilst we settle in and set everything up. Would be good to do a few runs with customers before we are officially open.

Mister Freedom now has a home in London. Many forum members will be familiar with this iconic brand but for those of you who are not let me introduce you:

In the words of Mister Freedom founder and maestro, the brand is "based on an original script and story, playing with fictitious characters in a historical background, MFSC is not about reproductions or trends, but creates historically plausible original clothes that never existed but could have". Christophe Loiron, owner and designer of the brand, wholly creates his own wonderful garments based on the often wild, at times surreal, imaginations of his own mind. The clothes tell a story, a story he has scripted, which he invites you to be a part of. His deep love and understanding of vintage garments serve as reference points, but his designs are his own and totally unique. In 2006 Mister Freedom started a collaboration with Sugar Cane/Toyo Enterprises known as MFSC, where the designs are all by Christophe, but the fabrics are milled in Japan and the garments assembled both there and in the USA with an exemplary attention to detail.

For further details on all of the garments are are carrying at this time click on the link below each item.

All the best with the shop Danny, it looks absolutely first rate. If only I didn't already have 2 lifetimes' supply of jeans! I'll definitely visit though as it's pretty much on my way home from work - I'm sure I'll be tempted by some of the non-denim goodies plus I'll definitely be able to keep Junior busy on the Union Special!

Join Mister Freedom on his Sea Hunt or more pedestrian activities with this unique and stunning raft yellow Watchman Jacket.

This is a hybrid of many past jackets using two-tone raft yellow NOS (New Old Stock) cotton canvas fabrics with the under collar and wrist gussets being Okinawa 11oz Sugar Cane Fiber denim.

The ring nut  buttons are from Japan and the button loops are NOS parachute cording.
