And since I've had a couple of pm's regarding longer inseam for bybeatle volume one - it is possible but only if you place pre order by March 12th. This way we can get them slotted in with production. Please disregard the checkout coupon as the longer inseam adds to the actual price.

how long is it there for Danny?

This will run for an indefinite period. It is a shared retail space in the lobby lounge/bar of Apartment 58 open to the public. It is below Centre Point and adjacent to Tottenham Court Road tube station.

The website will announce on a monthly or fortnightly basis the times that you can find us there. We aim to be open there 3/4 days a week.

I'll give more details as we open up.

Hope to see you there, Geeman. It is bang in the heart of London so will be easy to find for everyobe.

Indigofera Ray Selvedge Fabric 9 jeans and the Grant denim Jacket are now available.

The Ray selvedge uses Japanese selvedge denim from Okayama that is an extremely deep indigo promising some great contrast fades with wear. This is a medium-rise, slim fitting jean that tapers in at the knee and down to the leg opening.

The Grant Broken Twill has many vintage details yet is modernized into a great fitting jacket. The pleat running along the opening dates back to the first workwear denim jackets of the 19th century. The main body is triple-stitched and the lower pocket is lined.

Coming soon from this increasingly popular and respected brand are the Norris flannels and woad dyed t shirts. Those of bigger builds will appreciate the sizing of them and due to demand I am attempting to get some XL sizes added to the order. I'll keep you posted on that one.

Great interview you gave with Beatle, Keat, on the Hall Of Fade blog: Hold the Phone! It's Beatle Mania

It's a very enjoyable read about her evolution from growing up in the denim-deprived Pre-'89 East Germany to the launch her own brand this month:

The Indigofera Norris selvedge flannel is woven on shuttle looms in Japan but its truly regular fit is a clue to the shirt being made in Europe. The dark indigo/light indigo contrast will fade nicely with wear. This is a quality Japanese flannel to fit a western build.

The Stark is a combination of two of Born + Bred's favourite wallets, the Clark and The Standard with their Brogue design. It incorporates 3 card holders which can hold multiple cards and has an inner section for cash notes and receipts.

The stark is the perfect wallet if you need multiple cards and notes but don't want a chunky lump in your pocket.

With much embarrassment for how late this post is I can finally post this here! Sadly I haven’t had any image editing software to get these images sorted but now they are here!

I got in touch with Danny at Rivet and Hide and made an appointment to see him, however before actually purchasing anything we went to a great pub literally across the road and had a wonderful discussion and chat about denim and the future of Rivet and Hide over a drink, what more do you want?!

Then we entered Danny’s amazing place, it’s literally like a denim mecca with so many pairs and brands and other products I had a first hands on experience with some Steel Feathers and a pair of Flat Head 3001s which are definitely going to be my next purchase. Midway through trying things on Danny also made me quite frankly a bloody brilliant espresso; putting his barista skills into action, talk about hospitality once again!

I also finally got to understand why people rant and rave about the Flat Head hoodies and jumpers, the fabric on them really is incredible. Another purchase that is also going to be made is that of one of the Rivet and Hide bridle leather belts, the colour on them is gorgeous and the quality of the leather is wonderful.

But to the business at hand, on the day I purchase a size 31 pair of Hiut Slim Selvedges after talking about what kind of fit I wanted and liked with Danny and all I can say is that his advice and understanding of what I wanted was spot on and they’re made here in the UK so I’m helping out the economy aha!

8610974902_6cccc1978a_b.jpg

As you can see they definitely needed a hem which Danny said would be done that very evening on their Union Special 43200g and the jeans would be back with me again in less than 36 hours. It was awesome to get to see one of these machines in the flesh considering how legendary they are.

8609868509_b239228cf0_b.jpg

Here you can see the fit again and me as one very happy customer! I really love the Kuroki denim these are made of and the build quality on them is incredible especially with all the little details:

8609866547_2b6fa3a4a8_b.jpg

Here’s their first real outing and fit, they travelled with me to Edinburgh to see the city and be a tourist in general as a break from their standard uni life:

8609864589_5a8cb760e0_b.jpg

Love the really sharp honeycombs they have.

And here they are just under 2 months of wear down the line, finally breaking in with electric blue hints on the whiskers and honeycombs and of course the wallet fade:

Colour isn’t true on the front ones, but the view of the back is true to colour

Absolutely love this pair and they are by far my go to, going to be wearing them for as long as possible before their first wash where they’ll probably lose another inch or inch and a half in the inseam so will then see whether or not they need to be hemmed or anything at all, this is mainly so I can have an excuse to go see Danny again!

Danny, can we just drop jeans off at Apartment 58 to have them chainstitched and then pick them up again? If so, how much is it and what's the expected turnaround time? Cheers.

Yes, of course. Just check on the Rivet & Hide website the days that we are there as these will be fluid.

Normally, a chain stitch service will take just a couple of days. Any longer (due to travel) and i would let you know.

Free on a pair of jeans from the store. £15 otherwise.

The dates should be up there in a few days and I'll post them here.

Just sorting out insurance and a few other logistics first.

I am having some shelves delivered from Sweden to stack the jeans plus a rail with a "meat-hook" system to hang each jean.

The shelves have been delayed so I may just get going there without the "furniture" in place and make do without it for the first week or so. Watch this space.

fit is spot on man, good choice.

Thanks, all based of Danny's advice!

xEnvy, the fit is on point.. Thanks for such a great post.

Come and see us at Apartment 58. Espresso for £1.00 Japanese beer. Our denim collection. In Central London. You'll love it.

Thanks mate, no worries!

I definitely will just tell me when that'll be possible and I'm there!

Are you guys there this week? I'm working in Soho currently, so might pop by one lunchtime...

We'll be there next week for sure. Possible start day this coming Saturday.

The first couple of weeks will be minus the "shop" furniture but I'll have the stock there and a changing room.
