Read up on footwear in the 19th century recently, and apparently dog leather was quite commonly used on workboots back then...

They would make really really supple and soft boots Mike.! I actually got to touch those pelts. The one that looks like a Golden Retriever was sooooo temptinggggg. Wasn't sure if i could get it pass local customs tho.. So i passed.

And it looks really soft. Is the slightly patchy colour due to oiling or the tanning process.? Nice golden hueeee....

received my new hollows 10oz 1.5" vegetable tanned leather belt with stainless steel roller (bought it with an alternate nickel roller to interchange)

once the sun pops its head out in Australia ill leave it out to tan for a day and get some evo pics up.

Tuscany is a good place for leathergoods hunting, but i guess, unless your wife is a leatherfreak too, there will not be much time for that. You can always get their contact details and see if they're willing to work on something for you and ship it when it is ready. I don't know for how long, but registered mail (posta raccomandata)is one of the few cheap things left in Europe, and a wallet, a belt or whatever else will fit in the dimensional allowance for packages sent that way

Here is my wallet I made in 2007 and have used everyday in my back right pocket. I am about to order a Voyej one now to replace this falling apart

Yes, the thickness may varied around 4 mm - 5 mm in average, because of the thickness throughout the hides is slightly different.

We will keep on improving with further restock.

New iPhone Case/ Wallet I made today out of some scrap leather I bought at the craft shop. I'm happy with how it turned out, should be nice after some oil and it stretches out.

Tried a little chain-stitching, hoping to get a chain-stich wallet fade. That'd be the ultimate SUFU geekdom.
