Yep, rest assured that the eather is legal, and 'ethical' (depends on your point of view though)...as far as I'm aware my leathersmith uses hides from culling programs.

@ lance: great news, do show us some pics, and if possible tell us how their French cordovan differs (if at all) from that of Horween's.

It's kinda like how Terry Dear doesn't make wallets (if he did, I'm going back to using cattlehide for my wallet...can just imagine that juicy Quercus leather made into a long RM-style wallet with Terry's custom Celtic patterns tooled on the edges....*drool*)
