6" smokejumper is much heavier than 5" semi dress?

suppose all other options ( something like leather, outsole... ) are same

I read some japanese blog and they said smoke jumper is really heavy boots. so, I want to know how much compare with SD.

anyone knows about this?

Spent some time in Leeds today, and had a look at the crepe-soled Tricker's in Hip as I was passing by:

Definitely not a fan of the combination, although I like the 'C' Shade Gorse in the flesh, more than I thought I would.

I also noticed that Craggs on the Headrow had some Tricker's in the window marked down by 10%, although it's actually nearer to 20% off based on the most recent prices - they only had the Country Collection shoes visible (I didn't go in), although they have a fuller selection online but without a mark-down:

i kinda liked those but in blue or black. the drawback for me were the crepe soles which will probably wear down too quick for my liking. was considering between these, the stows or the whites semidress for my birthday come april. any idea how the sizing runs on these?

The blue leather was nice and different; the crepe sole on the display pairs were dirty already just from general handling. I'd take a regular Stow over these all day long, personally.

I'd play it safe and go true to (UK) size with these, although you may well be able to get away with sizing down by a half-size...

agree totally about taking a regular stow.

i bought the waxy red/ oxblood boots and swapped out the crepe for commando soles, as this colour was only available with the crepe, and the guy in the trickers shop-jermyn street-said there was no more leather at the factory in this particular shade.

they look great(IMHO).. def true to UK size...

It would depend on the makeup you get. I had a pair of 10" smokejumpers, but they had a single leather soul and were not very heavy at all. They weighed about as much as the semi dress I had with a leather midsole and full vibram sole. If you had a chunky sole, then it most likely would feel heavier.

drool... how do you like the aberdeen? i haven't even had the opportunity to try one on before.

Aberdeen seems to fit very neutral and true to size. I think it generally fits better for me than Plaza does, though I like the look of Plaza better.

I like edging of the plaza shoes more than the aberdeen shoes Amlai, be sure to keep us up to date with the renovation.

I'm pretty sure the edging on both shoes is the same, but the Plaza shoes have been really beat up.

After application of Renovateur the shoes look a lot better. While not quite like they were, I think they're in pretty good shape. They should probably still go back to Alden for refurbishing so that they can put them back on the original lasts. They seem to be losing their original shape. I'll try to get some pictures up sometime soon.

These are my latest find, and I thought I would post them. These boots were obviously worn hard by their previous owner(s?), but they have survived almost completely intact. The leather is still complete, and really only has superficial markings, and the only problem I could find were some stitches that came apart at the rear. The leather is very thick, and I bet these will outlast me.

very nice! Can I see the bottoms too?

Sure thing. They look like maybe an old Biltrite sole, but it's pretty hard to tell.

And those larger circles on the heel seem to be rubber plugs that have either a metal washer, or just a large-headed nail underneath to secure the heel to the sole. You can see one poking out in the top right corner of the heel. I've never seen that before.

^seems a growing occurrence on similar cut Alden models. my friend had same problem with his JC CXL Indys. we thought of send them back, but it was too much trouble. anyway, it is an easy fix__ for a competent cobbler, ie.
