I've initiated contact with Hukurokuju (okuyama ) to have a pair of engineer boots re-soled. He gave me a quote and and address to send them to, but when I tried to translate it throught Google, I don't get the full address. Does anyone have the full address?

Thanks in advance!!

Some Alden porn.... TMadd's well used and well loved Indy's, shown next to a new pair from the most current production run. Anybody still not believe that this leather darkens down a little with wear??

Stocking D width, and happy to special order specific requests. Delivery time on special orders (if in stock at Alden) is approx. 10 days.

It was fun getting to see my pair up against a brand new pair, something that I don't believe I had done since I picked up mine in Late 06. While I am aware that they have evolved radically, it is still pretty striking to me how much they seem to resemble a totally different shoe. Mine have been getting worn everyday for the past 4 months or so (as I search for the right boot to add to the rotation) and are getting very close to needing some heavy work and repair (needs new heels desperately as of about a week ago, could do with a re-sole soon, upper starting to pull away from the welt at one smallish part on one shoe, leather heel liners are nearly gone, one speed hook is broken off). Up to this point, they have been resoled once by Greg @ Eddies Shoe Repair and then sent into Alden's for a re-crafting which is the only time since brand new that they received any polishing. My maintenance has been limited to brushing, and applications of Pecards when the leather starts to get dry. They have a lot of life left in them, but they need to start being in the lighter part of my line-up so that I can really start working on another pair or two. Some #8 shells, and either a Semi-Dress from Whites or a Mechanics Boot or Service Shoe from Lone Wolf or Ricksons are the likely next pair.

awesome aldens!

I have a lot of trouble believing that they were the same color....

I don't blame you on that one, and though I certainly recall the almost pumpkin-esque color that they had when new, it easily went a year of wearing them (and more importantly, treating them fairly regularly with pecards) before I shot any photos of them. Here are a couple photos from a year or so ago that might make the evolution colorwise make a little more sense.

Up against a long-since gone pair of Cigar 405s:

Still a little bit of orange going on in this picture:

great evolution on those Indy's T-Madd; I finally got my very own pair and can't wait to wear these hard.

Bill, do you have any extra info on the upcoming Alden collab x LA craft??

(soles, leather, last, ...)

Lovely! Makes me think of that great song: "Don't step on my blue stained shoes..."

thanks..I was kind of afraid at first that the bleeding would ruin them - but since I don't wear anything but raw denim - I had to give in*

That just adds to the character of them, man. They look good.

Jeeez! You guys are both slow AND weak!

Of course it's a "wink-wink" reference to Elvis' Blue Suede Shoes.

Beatle's shoes are suede and blue stained. It rhymes... Duuuuh!
