Quoted for new page. Great choice ddml, beautiful boots.

These White's look amazing. I have never seen the roughouts before. Two questions: First, where can you get them? I don't see them on their website. Second, how would you compare them to the Alden for WinnPerry Little Tanks or Alden for LeatherSoulHawaii Pitt Boots?

How good is Peal & Co's Brooks Bro partnership? I have 500 (ish) to spend on shoes and I want to get the best I can.

What are your opinions on this wingtip?

Brooks Brothers has this model in a much nicer color in stores (on sale $100 off if you buy before thursday).

http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=523&Product_Id=1412605&Parent_Id=522&default_color=Dark-brown

ge a pair of whites or wesco

Did you even look at his post before you responded? He's clearly looking for a pair of dress shoes, not boots.

I can't speak to quality, but those do look quite nice. Very delicate - shoes to be worn with dress-pants/suit, might not be the best for jeans-wear

I don't understand the 'bowing' of everything I see in the MOTO catalogue. Are they build with a rocker? Do they have steel shanks?

A bit late to this one, but the form reminds me of the Wings & Horns Service boots:

PICT8896.jpg

"After the construction of each of these boots, they are tied in a ball and soaked in water so that they form a very unique shape and appearance. When it is on your foot, though, the extreme curved shape begins to straighten out and they will sit just as your foot needs them to."

These White's look amazing. I have never seen the roughouts before. Two questions: First, where can you get them?

baker shoe dot com. i don't have the particular aldens you mentioned but there's no comparison there. the white's are work boots. those SFO's are boutique boots made by dress shoe manufactures with like, workboots as grandfathers; very nice but you wouldn't put them (the alden's) on to dig out bushes in your yard with a shovel (meaning i put on my white's for like, shovel work, and aldens for like, maybe some woodworking in my basement, like [i don't do too much of that, in truth])

denimdestroyedmylife, is that brown distressed roughout? seems too dark for the tan distressed roughouts

it is the distressed roughouts (according to the box anyway)

i thought they'd be lighter too but they certainly not as dark as the regular roughouts

know idea why they are called "distressed" except as marketing*

* you wouldn't think most people in the USA that are ordering white's are planning to take pictures themselves in the boots to post on a ambiguously gay shopping forum but to use in the field where all the distressing would happen rather (perhaps, too+)quickly.

+ meaning they'd want to preserve the integrity of the boots as long as possible
