Sadly, I don't think that we are really their target group anymore.

I’m not sure ‘we’ ever were.

’We’ are just a tiny ethnic minority with delusions of grandeur ... ‘we’ are the rugged primus (primi?) inter pares

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's ever been a pair of vintage Levi's with arcs completely upside down like this...at least I've never seen a pair.
And at $595 you've got to be kidding me!  LVC in its current form is pretty much dead and doesn't really seem to care about the accuracy of what they're making.
Their approach to creating products now is to throw a big price tag on it, hype it up as limited (entering a raffle for access to buy 600 dollar jeans?!) and keep your fingers crossed that it sells out.

Rant over.

Shows you what I know. :D Thanks for the info, one day I'll get that book...
Still, like Flash said there's a lot of better ways to spend $600 bucks.
You could get two pairs of Warehouse for that, or if you're willing to wait some CSF.

Haha, fair point. I guess what I meant to say was, that I’ve never agreed with their way of branding or pricing lvc, it did hold a certain appeal and was to a degree a form of repro. Now they aren’t trying to hide the fact that it’s just a fashion line for them anymore.

im glad I have 10 or so pairs of 47 USA made LVC (in various forms of decay) to wear over the next 20 years or so... plus the Warehouse 47 duck diggers are currently my favorite fitting reproductions.  It is indeed sad that Levis cannot make in the USA a pair of 501's.

I've been curious about that. Levi said they closed their factories, but I noticed you could still get Made in USA from Japan. Are these just remaining stock? Or are they actually still making some in US?

For some reason the japanese market eats this limited edition stuff up , take the recent s506xxee for instance , priced similarly to these and it was sold out instantly and I've seen a lot of big vintage collectors sporting it ..... why would you even bother when you have brands lime warehouse , freewheelers , conners and so on ?? Its obviously the Levi's name but that's all it is now .. a name

I see the Levi’s UK webstore is selling the rigid 47/54/55 models for £210 now. I’m sure they were only £170-180 a few weeks ago! Aeroleather are selling them for £170 too.

The 84 are £190 today £95 on Monday!

Here is an update on my Cone '66s, 36/34, purchased from the Levi's U.S.A. Website in Nov., 2017 (killer sale: $72 for the jeans). This is after their first wash with soap, after 200 days of wear. Cold hand wash in the tub, with Dr. Bronner's, and air dried. They were also washed cold in a tub with a few cups of vinegar in the water, and air dried, at 100 days. Cold washes. Haven't measured them after the second wash, but shrinkage after the first was about 5 percent on average.

I just came on to see if anyone else had mentioned the price hike on Levi’s.com (uk). Up from £180 to £210, a rise of 17%.

merry Christmas from Levi’s!

Rediscovering 505s!

I stopped buying 505s when they started being made in Turkey. My first pair of 555s on the right were too big (w36 L34). I got 2 Made in the USA pairs (W34 L34)  from S1 2004 in March 2004 (not sure where 1 pair is, but the other is in the centre) but grabbed an opportunity to get 3 Made in Turkey pairs w32 L34 recently (1 is on the left and the other which I have been wearing for a week is at the bottom) and I am loving them.

Found! The missing pair of Made in the USA  505s in the worn jeans pile. They are W34 L34 and fit well at present but are probably not worn since washing so will stretch out. Hopefully the W32 L34s will be a snugger fit when washed.

How is the MiA fit compared to the later Turkey ones?

My first pair of raw denim jeans were a pair of Turkey 505 bought in 2013 and they were kind of tight In the thigh. Still wore them like hell. Maybe I should dig out of wherever they are hiding...

Difficult to compare the fit as I don't have them in the same sizes. The Turkish ones are quite (but not too) tight in the thighs.
