Those are fantastic crimper. Some of the nicest train tracks I’ve seen.

I think the 333s were labelled up as a 1911 repro. I regret not getting these and the 201s. Like a complete tart, I was all about the downsized 47s when these were in the collections.

Well remembered Unders. Yes l can see the cloth patch with 333 stamped in green (?) and there were no rivets, instead was a purple coloured bar tacking on the pocket corners.

I know there are pics in this thread somewhere because l know AirfrogUSMC had a pair. Lvc did a raw and a slightly distressed version iirc.

Oh yes, AirFrogUSMC had every pair of LVC under the sun.

I might write a grovelling email to LVC to bring them back.

@Maynard Friedman you'll only mess them up by unstitching the cinch and removing the suspender buttons ^_^

Recycling my old post to show some more lot 3 goodness. Hardware looks the same as the 333s - nice consistency.

I’d probably dye them and lower the waistband too. But apart from that I’d leave them exactly the same! :laugh2:

Seriously unders, give LVC a nudge, I will too. I’ve had a serious waist overalls crush on these 333s for a good few years now and would give them some good ol’ summer lovin’ alongside my Buddy Lees. I’m all about the Loose Fit man :D

Thanks , them old Levis where the darkest blue when new and really stiff but with a lot of wear you got some nice results. I use to wear them to work which really helped.

I don't think i have seen the 333s.

The 333 are fantastic jeans.

The repro was lovely. The original were indeed a budget range, with fabric that used recycled yarns. LVC did the same for this range, commissioned IIRC from a little mill in Portugal, bits of recycled fibre in the thread. (Not sure if the mill only span the yarns or loomed the fabric as well). It was insane attention to detail for jeans that nobody knew anything about. I am sure they sold zilch. Patches were like the 201 range but with green type. I think somewhere on this thread I posted  photos of the vintage pair in Japan that inspired the reissue.

There was a remainder sale at their showroom where they had a few pairs but none in my size, sadly. But then again, I have so many pairs of early jeans that look like they're starting to break in after 10 years of wear. At some point in my life I need to wear in  my 201, but that will probably be when I get to a care home etc.

My recollection is that the 333 were produced before, or in the early stages of, the move to Amsterdam. That was when our own Cotton Duck joined the company. RIght after that point Levi's decided LVC had to produce profits, before that it was partly about prestige. So prices went up and there were fewer quirky items (although, to be fair, items like the natural indigo 1880s could surely never have turned a chunky profit if you factor in the design time etc etc etc).

501ZXXs bought in June 1971 (big E). The rear side pocket seams on these were parallel rather than splayed at the top.

that's a great link, Maynard, thanks!

There are other catalogues or links that mention it having recycled fibre. No-one knows who would have produced the fabric first time around.

Fascinating to see the Lot 225 black denim pants mentioned, too, I can't remember seeing that before.

There are still Made in USA 501s available. And not LVC but in their mainline and even made from selvedge denim (not Cone though).

All you have to do is buy from Levi's Japan

I had to wash my 1937 201s after 3 months continuous wear. They have come out nicely washed inside out at 40C for 1hour in the machine.

Hello guys, It's my first post here. I am Denimseeker (ig: denim_seeker).
I have been collecting vintage jackets for a while, esp. denim jackets. Feeling that the denim world deserves a better guide for Levi's denim jackets so I tried my best to make one. The guide is much more complicated than those you see on other websites (i.e. Heddel's or Long John etc) so you might need some basic understanding to read it. This guide is open for comments and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to let me know. This guide is still a work in progress and would be wonderful if everybody in the denim world can contribute.
      That being said, enjoy!

      Hi All,
see you again on 2020 and I wish you all happy new year. this time I need your opinion about Levi's BIG E that I found at flea market few days ago. I found an old Levi's vest (its a jacket once before), this vest do not have a cinch back, I also cannot see the number on the back of button, tag was unavailable. only rivets, red tab and selvedge that I can see clearly. here's I send you the details. Hopefully someone here can give me an opinion regarding this Levi's. Any opinions are welcome, I do appreciated.
      please let me know.

I checked the Encyclopedia thread and only one Levi's link didn't give a 404 error, so here goes nothing. I should add that a lot of the center patch jeans actually aren't vintage (at least the ones I'm looking for) and date back to around 2006. I've talked with Levi's support a handful of times and got nothing out of it. I'm trying to figure out what all the center patch pairs are. I know I haven't quite figured them all out, but I've found a few, though they seem very hard to come by, and obviously aren't currently in production. I'd really like to find a pair with the white "Quality Never Goes Out of Style" center patch. Something tells me I don't have the ideal wording, and if I knew exactly what to type, I could probably find a plethora of those jeans. When I google 519's, I have to block the words extreme or skinny (add a - in front of whatever word you don't want to see in the results) or I get mostly brand new pairs of 519's. Here's what I know so far:

This pair, which can be seen clearly in the first photo and on this store page (which has other photos of the same pair) appears to be 519 slim fit. However, they don't seem to be the normal 519 slim fit. One site I looked at called them "519 slim fit side adjusters". I have looked extensively over the past couple of weeks and was lucky to find that clear photo, as well as that store listing and one Ebay listing which sold a while back. On a side note, I found that 511 skinny leg (or a version, rather) seems to look the same, with the centered white patch and waist adjusters, but they too are hard to find. The 511's and 519's have a white patch that says, "Quality Never Goes Out of Style". There may be others as well.

You may recognize these from the Moonbathing ads. They are part of the "Two Horse Brand" collection, which have a yellow and white patch and say "Two Horse Brand" on the patch. 506 and 511 look identical, while 509 has the addition of a cinch back. There might be other fit numbers I'm missing.
