P.S. I forgot to mention that this is the gray single pocket one with the buttons that only go half way down the front. I hope that's the model you were asking about.

Hi,

I was able to find a pair of LVC-501z-1954 rigid still labeled Made in Usa (with cone mills denim), is there any way from the number/codes in the internal labels to know when these were produced?

Thanks

I’m pretty sure their production date is week 17 (late April), 2015 (from the 1715).

Button code says 4420.

What I don't understand is why one internal label says "Made in USA from imported components" when the cardboard label says "Made in USA - made from cone denim north carolina", what are the imported components? I hope it's not denim. If they were manufactured in 2015 wasn't cone the LVC denim supplier until it closed down at the end of 2017?

I have an older pair of the same 1954-501Z rigid, maybe from 2011 (code 0411) that had all the same external paper labels and that on the internal label says only "Made in Usa"

This discussion has been had in the past. The denim was made in USA at Cone Mills. Imported components are possibly thread and metals used for the hardware.

Do you guys consider Clinch to be the benchmark in expensive boots?

Fwiw i paid around 110,000¥ for my custom build which was 10,000¥ less than what i paid for my pair of 'off the shelf' Buco's

Please forgive this basic question, which I'm sure has been covered before.  Does this (or any other) tag indicate the model number?

It's great to know these were made in the 17th week of 2015, which peaks my interest regarding other things we may learn from the tags.

50154 - top left on first photo, within the string 'PC9-50154-0001'

50154 on second photo too.

They are the 1954 501z model.

      Hi All,
see you again on 2020 and I wish you all happy new year. this time I need your opinion about Levi's BIG E that I found at flea market few days ago. I found an old Levi's vest (its a jacket once before), this vest do not have a cinch back, I also cannot see the number on the back of button, tag was unavailable. only rivets, red tab and selvedge that I can see clearly. here's I send you the details. Hopefully someone here can give me an opinion regarding this Levi's. Any opinions are welcome, I do appreciated.
      please let me know.

I checked the Encyclopedia thread and only one Levi's link didn't give a 404 error, so here goes nothing. I should add that a lot of the center patch jeans actually aren't vintage (at least the ones I'm looking for) and date back to around 2006. I've talked with Levi's support a handful of times and got nothing out of it. I'm trying to figure out what all the center patch pairs are. I know I haven't quite figured them all out, but I've found a few, though they seem very hard to come by, and obviously aren't currently in production. I'd really like to find a pair with the white "Quality Never Goes Out of Style" center patch. Something tells me I don't have the ideal wording, and if I knew exactly what to type, I could probably find a plethora of those jeans. When I google 519's, I have to block the words extreme or skinny (add a - in front of whatever word you don't want to see in the results) or I get mostly brand new pairs of 519's. Here's what I know so far:

This pair, which can be seen clearly in the first photo and on this store page (which has other photos of the same pair) appears to be 519 slim fit. However, they don't seem to be the normal 519 slim fit. One site I looked at called them "519 slim fit side adjusters". I have looked extensively over the past couple of weeks and was lucky to find that clear photo, as well as that store listing and one Ebay listing which sold a while back. On a side note, I found that 511 skinny leg (or a version, rather) seems to look the same, with the centered white patch and waist adjusters, but they too are hard to find. The 511's and 519's have a white patch that says, "Quality Never Goes Out of Style". There may be others as well.

You may recognize these from the Moonbathing ads. They are part of the "Two Horse Brand" collection, which have a yellow and white patch and say "Two Horse Brand" on the patch. 506 and 511 look identical, while 509 has the addition of a cinch back. There might be other fit numbers I'm missing.

Levi's Engineered has some center patch jeans as well, though I'm really trying to find more of the white patch pairs.

Hello - I have a larger personal collection of vintage workwear.  Lee Hair-on-hide, a pair of 1947 Wranglers, Stifel wabash chore jacket and matching overalls, are some of the collection's highlights.  Most are larger size as they had to fit me (of course) - I am a large shirt (US), and most pants are a 32 waist 32 inseam or larger.  Some really great stuff.  Levis jackets from each era, Early Lee and Wrangler jackets. Chore jackets galore.  Racing tees from the 60's.   Boss Of The Road vintage "no belt loop jeans" as well as the same in a Boss of the Road khaki (with wax marks from walking through the mine!).  I just don't wear this anymore.  I live in Los Angeles.  Some of the stuff was even featured in SUPERTALK magazine  a few years back.  The first Levi denim banner as well as another early one.  Too much stuff!  Selling as a collection or in piece.
