Things are starting to get interesting...(for me)...

for me too! ;) I'm not sure what size I'd be, as the size charts seem to run larger for a tagged size than I'm used too...

@Taylor_RFG Steven's Journeyman's are looking good!

@Taylor_RFG - can you provide any further info on the denim, such as sanforized (I think you said somewhere it is), which mill produced it, how much further will it stretch/shrink, type of cotton, etc.? Do you use differetn thread on these than you other denims/fabrics due to the weight? I'm interested, especially at the new price, but I'm also interested in your 15oz denim too. Such tough decisions... and, I'm not sure which fit, as my my body weight has fluctuated at lot in  the past several months. Right now, I could probably pull off the Spikes. But a year ago, no way, and a year from now, who knows. Thanks Taylor! mpp

It is sanforized denim, shrinkage isnt something you would have to worry about too much, anything that tightens up with most likely stretch back out with regular wear. It stretches about a half inch in waist overtime. I couldn't button mine the first time trying it on but after a few hours of just wearing it around, I was able to button it all the way up so it does take some break in period. The X034 has triple needle stitching, for the 23oz its a double stitch, we use the same color thread. Spikes fit is the most popular and works well on most body types. We recommend sizing up on sizes 33 and above because those sizes run a bit smaller than our normal specs. Both great styles.

On the Railcar Women's side we finally released a selvedge Donna High Waist! Made from 12 ounce about 3% stretch indigo selvedge. This fabric is a very good weight it feels nice and thick with a good amount of stretch to keep your figure nice and condensed but still super comfortable/soft. This will also be limited since we only have a few rolls of this X046 denim.

Here is Sarah our production girl, she is wearing a size 27 fresh off the machines.

Our first proprietary denim was a 15 ounce slubby dark indigo denim Spikes X034, it quickly became one of our best sellers so Steven wanted to develop something a little lighter in weight with a different unique texture. Here is newly released 13.6 ounce Spikes X042, check out the site for more info!

Steven and I have been working on a new and improved website for a couple of weeks now, it is finally launched with higher quality photos/ more info about our styles and workshop. We also have some new preorders and custom short runs available, some at discount.

It is also more mobile friendly and easier to navigate. It just launched yesterday so there might still be some bugs, however we are going to keep updating everything as much as we can, and hopefully this can become a great platform to learn about denim/ what we do here at Railcar!

Let us know what you think, check out the link below.

@Taylor_RFG +1 I was going to say/ask the same exact things!

When launching the new site we wanted to do a discounted preorder for this beautiful roll of 16 ounce yellow selvedge line Cone Mills denim that Steven found a couple weeks ago.

Preorder price is $165! It ends October 1st, the the rest of the stock will be regular price at $220. They are going really quick, we only have enough fabric to make about 35-40 pairs.

@Taylor_RFG I thought I remembered seeing a post awhile back about making some knits? Is that still happening?

Yes! You are correct, we still very much want to start our knitwear. However, there is just SO much going on here at the workshop. It is definitely something we want to get started on soon, maybe for the winter season.

Railcar Boot-Resole Service is active online now. Here is a picture of some Thorogoods in works of getting re-soled. Sal hand-stitched a leather welt on, it was originally made with a plastic welt (many boots are) which wears down and cracks over time. A leather welt will last much longer and wont dry up. Ill post the finished product when he is done!
