So then I take it if my true waist is a 33, then I should go with a 29 in NS? That's if I want a nice clean look, without the waist being too loose. But not having the jeans real tight in the thighs.

I'm close to the same as snuff, I'm 5'8" 160-165lbs.

depends on how big your thighs are. NS start to get pretty skinny in the thigh the more you size down.

I have had my standards for a year and a half and have washed them once intentionally. The first time my friend washed them when I was staying over their place. Talk about hospitality. I was so vexed! I had only been rocking them for 6 months and I had been planning the way I was going to wash them since I had first copped them from the SoHo store. My OG Levi's didn't even get the same wear as these did so I couldn't wait to do that first wash, my way, the right way. Washing the enzymes out and brushing the denim so that each thread coated with indigo would be massaged. It's disgusting how I think out my denim.

So this guy, my friend, tells me he washed my jeans and throws them to me crumbled like it was a pair of sweatpants. Immediately, my heart sinks. A tear falls. It's indigo blue. As I unravel these mutant pair of jeans, torched from being in the dryer, all I can do is remain calm. I couldn't bear to look at this Rosemary's baby of denim. This was not my Standards. This was afterbirth that crawled out of the womb of a dryer. They say once you acknowledge the mistake or imperfection- the next step is to fix it. So, I did the only thing a parent could do when they are upset with the outcome of their Jeans. I cried. I wept. I cursed God and then I accepted them for what they are. The whiskers were still there. The almost blown out knees were still there. I told myself that I could still make these the pair of Denim I want them to be.

I pulled those tight, creased, scorched things around my legs and repeated the process of sweating in them so that the bacteria began to eat at each thread. I wore them every day like underwear. I drank in them and spilled beer intentionally on them. Walked in the rain with no umbrella and entertained the idea of swimming in them. Never got a chance to swim in them but after a year- they started looking familiar. They looked more familiar than ever. They even had that greasy shine to them that I love.

In the pictures attached you can see all these details. You can even see the vertical crease lines from the first wash. I use to hate them but now I love that detail. When I repaired them I went for a traditional box stitch. You can see these on the knees and upper pocket. My favorite part of having these now is when people ask me where I got my denim or what kind of denim I'm wearing. The first guess is Diesel. I laugh. When I tell them they are A.P.C. they shake their head as if I'm lying. Then with a very humble reply I tell them "they do not sell this type of denim there. They come raw, as in blackish-blue. I have worn these every day for over a year. That is the reason why they look like this".

That's when you catch that look of disgust. That look that says you is a nasty motherfu**er. That's when I smile...

just got my APC NS in today.

i'm a true size 34, sized down 2. (32)

height - 5'11, weight - 180

A bit tight, but I think once they stretch they'll be perfect for the fit I want.

IMG_2548.jpg

i like this fit. im a size 34 and am planning to get a pair of 32 NS. However, im 6'5 and this guy is 5'11. will the major difference simply be stacking?

aight.... i got my black PS yest. from the nyc store, i usually wear 31 in NC 's so i tried a 30 in ps. the thights where skin tight but the waist still had room, because of the low rise. so i went up to a 31 to have alittle more room in the leg, i achieved a loser look more similar to a NS than a nc, there fucking perfect! however the waste is alittle big, im a wearing a belt so im ok. my question is, is there more or less streching with the black raws? or is it about the same? thanx

p.s guys any fit questions, send em my way, there still brand new.

The other night I wasn't thinking and wore my PS to a party and now they're really really stretched out. I'm a girl and I was hoping they would be able to fit reasonably well but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get that anymore... I've only had them a month and I havent washed them yet... any help?

pilot! so did u exchange ur 32 for a 31?

or does ur 32 fit like snuff?

do post pic of ur fit :P

i just kept my 32's.i should have sized down to a 31. around my hip bones where i wear my jeans is measured at 37 inches. people don't fully understand how much these jeans stretch. i'm 6'1 185 for reference. 24in thighs.

2 months of wear. i sweat in them alot because its always hot in arkansas. and i wash them when they stretch out too much. 2nd wash. its hard to see the fading in those pics. i have some fading in the thighs, some whiskers developing, honeycombs arent really fading though

any shrinking will be temporary, they will just stretch right back out. the only way to avoid it is to downsize more. besides, if you can't wear your PS to a party why have them? just wear them and don't worry about it. they are meant to be worn hard.

ok, ive been comparing the ps to my 2 month worn nc, the ps has the same 19cm leg opening, but the nc thigh was 10.5in. brand new and the ps thigh is 12in brand new. so def. a fuller cut knee up, but nc status knee down. the rise on the ps i so low though!
