How many pairs of jeans do you own?

Recommended Posts

@Flash @shredwin_206 Thanx peeps!
Journeyed through different denim, cuts & fits through the years ... w/c are so apparent in the trendless, eclectic heap:blush2:

Worn&faded jeans [that still fit] are my pride & joy, w/c I value more than my unworns.

Completed my "Denim Corner" recently. Obviously, not all boots are mine... ;)

Mr Freak - That looks good  - like a select shop - and with my cheeky head on  they all look as new

I order them by brands but in no special order

I've got two piles (way less nice) - worn and waiting. And I end up sorting them by what I think I'm likely to wear soonest. So currently it's light loose ones floating to the top for summer, but that will soon have to change...

And the current live ones hang on a bedpost

sure thing @Maynard Friedman: full disclosure - nothing too fancy... think its all been seen...

for the legs...

tcb - 20s / s40s / 50s

tender - 130 / 132 / 134 [straight cut trews, canvas]

osh kosh b'gosh - denim bib overalls from 50s, hickory strip bib overalls from 70s

lvc

555 - 201 (cut down in a moment of insanity] / 1870s

last gasp of cone - 1870 / 1915 / 1937 / 1944 / 1976

new denim non usa construction - 1955

evisu 2x 0005 (one m.i.j. one evisu international)

sugar cane standard 1947

vintage / surplus swiss army denim trousers

jackets:

lvc - triple pleat  / type I

orslow - 40s hickory chore / 50s chore / army pullover

post overalls - indigo print 30s engineer jacket / 40s chore

tender - 921

boncoura - 20s chore

vintage / surplus swiss army jacket

then growing military stuff: 50s fishtail parka jacket liner / 80s woodland camo jacket / 2x nigel cabourn army pants (1x canvas and I think 1x moleskin?)

& have worked through various other edwin / wrangler / lee 101 variations [wrangler being the best imo...]

started off with an interest in cinched denim back in the day; last few years staying largely in the tcb-lvc-tender zone for the legs; only now exploring 40s cuts; one day will get a pair of warehouse; chores are a constant, lvc type I seems to suffice as the blouson for all occasions ...

edit: forgot to say; in the spirit of Erik Satie who, legend has it, had a number of grey velvet suits he would wear one day a week; I had planned a set of decade-specific tuxes to work through at leisure for some years one day a week (lvc 1870s/1880s for Monday, 1920s tcbxboncoura for Tuesdays, lvc 1930s for Wednesdays, post overalls x lvc '44 for Thursdays, osh kosh x orslow 50s for Fridays, but then military denim (maybe 60s?) for Saturday and a tender tux for best Sundays... ) but never got that committed and got drawn back to competition wear with the tcb s40s which really feel a little 60s in their gentle taper ...
